Guggenheim/Magic Johnson and Prokhorov are teaming up to cash in for this very reason.

Depending on how the NBA regulates the cap increase, at the very least...the cap could rise between $79m to $89m. The current projection for the salary cap in 2016 is $69 million. To put it in perspective: The MLE could rise to 10 million.

This is more proof Deron will most likely opt out especially if there is a very good chance of a lockout in 2017 of some sort. So, (hypothetically) if Deron opts out, we will have between 76 to 86 million to spend with Plumlee and Kerasev on rookie deals still.

there is 0 chance williams opts out. he will barely make the 23M he is due in his walk year over the next 3. no way he gets more then 3/24 from anyone at 32 years old

It depends on how good he looks between now and then. His agent won't be stupid enough to opt in knowing there is no guarantee of a season in 2017. If there is no season that year, Deron would be a 34 year old free agent in 2018 with no paycheck from 2017.

thats irrelevant since he would have made the same amaount in 16-17 as he would be making on a 3 year deal, AND he would get it all up front before the lockout instead of 8 million per year.

he could [lay out his deal and signed minimum contracts and make the same or more then if he opted out.

How many games has Irving missed in the last 3 years?

I dont see Love as a top player. He is grossly overrated. Minny finished 24th, 24th and 27th in FG% the last 3 years. That leaves a lot of rebounds to pad your stats. Can he shoot 3s? Yes he can but so can Ilyasova. Love plays little defense and cant create for himself like Bosh did in Miami. I find it hard to consider him a superstar when he never got his team to the playoffs in a league where over half the teams in the conference make it. Same thing goes for Irving. How good is he when Cleveland has been absolutely trash with him?

Dont be surprised if Marion looks like the second best player on the Cavs. I think Irving will have trouble playing with Lebron since he needs to have the ball to be effective and I think Love will be the scape goat for all of their failures. I dont think it's wise to pay a big max money unless he is dominate defensively or can create his own offense. Love is undersized and an average defender at best. He also needs to have his points manufactured since his lack of height and length wont work inside against the better frontcourts in the NBA.

Like I said. Irving is injury prone

Last 2 years Deron has played 85 games and 76 games. Can't compare him to Kyrie.

how many of those was he healthy for. deron played on a playoff team, there was incentive to play through it.

kyrie was on a tanking loser. no incentive for him to play through anything
