Lattimore will be Ready to Go

@taylorprice49 @marcusLattimore will be eligible to play after week 6. How likely are we to see him hit the field? #NinerTalk

According to his step father he'll be ready to play.

Unless someone gets injured my guess is they'll let him practice and park him back on the NFI until next season.

They could cut Josh Johnson if they really wanted to as there really isn't a need for 3 QBs on the roster and you could always resign him if you needed one.

But Lattimore is someone I believe was envisioned for the post-Gore era which is why they'll likely stash him away this season.

Only reason I can see them letting him stay on the roster is; we only have 2 true RB's on the roster and as the year goes on there is more wear and tear and more likely to be an injury. We will need that 3rd RB

I tried to find the quotes I read yesterday from his step-father but couldn't. he basically said Lattimore is in great shape and looks as good moving the ball real well. Looks real fast. Looking forward to see what he looks like

Harbaugh said he should be activated after the bye week and be on the 53 player roster. Or that "is the plan"

Who knows with Harbaugh, not sure you can trust much of what he says

Sounds like the last 6 games of the season. 21 day practice period starting at the bye week and then activation. Will ever be active on game days I wonder?

My understanding is he will begin practicing after the bye, and that's when the 21 day window to activate him begins.

He is expected to be added to the 53, which will have to come with a corresponding roster move.

Wishing for this next year:

Gore
Hyde

A healthy Lattimore
A healthy Kenadall Hunter (if the Niners can re-sign him for relatively cheap).

I can dream...

Don't get your hopes up, I can't see us carrying 4 RBs next year. I think Hyde and Lattimore are shoe-ins, Gore and Hunter are on the bubble, as strange as that seems. I don't want to see Gore go, but if the team moves on I can't be mad at the choice. Hopefully he can be a Bryant Young 49er legend who gets to finish his career as a 49er instead of the Joe Montana/Roger Craig/Ronnie Lott/Jerry Rice 49er legend who finishes his career in a different uniform.

If Gore comes on the cheap I could see him being brought back.

Hunter getting injured increased his chances of resigning a year prove it deal but my guess is he'll look for greener pastures. If Hyde and Lattimore are healthy there just won't be enough touches to keep him happy.

It's not just about the financial costs though, there's the roster composition side of it, and I can't see us going into a season with 4 RBs. It's the same reason many expected LMJ to be cut in camp before Hunter's injury.

Hopefully it's a happy ending and I'm really excited about the guy if he's back to being 100% which remains to be seen.

I read that article this morning. Really good stuff. Looking forward to seeing what this guy can do. People were thinking he had physical issues when Lattimore missed the exhibition season and first few games. That doesn't appear the case from this article. Hope it goes well for him and the team.

Unless the plan changes he won't be on the active roster until after 3 weeks when his practice window closes.

Of course if Hyde or Gore get hurt in that period of time I could see him being put on earlier.

Today is the day. A longtime for recovery and a lot of hard work. I hope he comes out looking like he did in college in terms of explosion.

I am rooting for Lattimore to suceed not only because he is on the 49ers, but also because he seems like a really good kid and has worked really hard. The doctor who did his surgery said Lattimore of his rehab that he has been one of his hardest working patients.

Haven't watched the post game interviews (can't do it) however they asked Harbs why they haven't seen lattimore with the team.

Harbaugh said there would be an announcement on that tomorrow. Did anybody see the interview? Could lattimore be done? I saw the last couple days lattimore had to sit out of practice because of soreness?

I'm guessing he's hanging them up.
