Always hate to see a class player go down. I feel for you guys. Hoping he comes back strong.

Well, I guess its time to see if Perry Jones can actually do something for you guys. I've been a fan of his for forever and even though this isn't a good situation for your team, it's a great one for Jones to step up.

Damn this sucks. I really feel for you Thunder fans. I definitely thought you guys would finally break through and win the NBA championship this yr. With an injury like this, expect him to be back in late January or early February. Hate to see such a great player and class act go down. Hopefully Westbrook and company can keep them afloat in a tough Western Conference. If he is in MVP form by the time the playoffs roll around, then watch out. Here's to a speedy recovery KD.

Horrible news. Hope he gets back when he's 100% so he can put this behind him for good.

Guess the lineup needs some work now. Would probably start Lamb for his offense with Jones at SF.

I hope that Westbrook won't try to do too much now, but I'm afraid that he probably will.

Hey all, just for some random thinking. The Thunder, as a team, still have Westbrook and Ibaka, 2 guys taken for granted. I'm looking around the league and wondering how many teams have a 1/2 punch that's as good as that to be honest. I don't know if there are that many. This is likely about a 20 game stretch, if OKC can win 12ish games, its all good.

I'm gonna call it now. The first few games this season, Russ is gonna do too much, everyone's gonna give him so much hate, but he pulls back on it and I'm hoping this is his chance to shine. Last year they did it w/o Russ, LAC did it w/o CP3 for a stretch. They can do this.

Griffin was efficient and was averaging 30ppg during that stretch...

I'm hoping for Russ to effectively use Ibaka the way Durant did when Russ was out, but i doubt that happens.

I really hope Jones, Lamb, Jackson, Adams, Ibaka, Morrow, and Russ step up. We already had 4th quarter problems when Durant was playing, Westbrook by himself in the 4th is going to be a nightmare.

Hopefully this is not a long term or reoccurring problem.
As long as it is not i can shove the news aside and be more interested in how this team is going to do without him. Who is going to be more productive?
Who is going to step up as a leader outside of Russ?
Is Adams going to be injected into the starting line up immediately?
Who is starting the 3? Roberson? That could be interesting.

This is something that can benefit the team as i feel Westbrook's injury benefited the team.

Well, other guys have to step up big time. Atleast they will get a chance to show what they can do in the absence of KD. Westbrooks time to shine i guess and Ibakas aswell. This might be blessing in disguise.

I'm really interested to see what Adams might do in his absence. Westbrook can't use all those extra possessions by himself. There are going to be additional shots for guys who might not have taken them otherwise.

Not good news but hey, the best we can hope is that he heals in time. Westbrook and Ibaka will have to step up another level and the rest of the team must show it is capable of handling such a loss. I think the bigger aim in this league should always be to develop a "good" team vs having to always rely on a star to get you by. It does not work that way. Look at what Lionel did in Memphis. He took a team without any true superstar and turned them into a top 2 defense as well an WCF appearance.

6-8 weeks is not 5 months.

I'm more disappointed in how it will affect our starting rotation. It's going to be two more months before we really know who the starting 2 will be, and it will be a couple more months before we see how comfortable the starting lineup can be together. The one plus is that we should be playing our best ball around playoff time, something that hasn't happened the last couple of years.

We won't know, but I think it may end up helping in the end as they're going to have 2 guys used to starting and will end up just moving one to the bench. It should at least show who's capable of it. Really hoping its Russ/Roberson/Adams/Ibaka with one of RJ or Morrow.

I don't know that we can survive starting Roberson without KD. I really think Morrow or Reggie and PJIII have to start (unless Brooks is willing to say 'Jeremy, it's time to sink or swim.') , without KD we aren't good enough to play 4 on five offensively. I would expect we have to sacrifice some defense in order to stay competitive with WC teams offensively. Either that or our bench is going to have to play extensive 'whoever is hot today' basketball. Either way I think our rotations are going to be out of whack until after the all-star break.

I don't know, I think the best bet may be to try to slow the game down a little and make sure they're able to hang w/o KD. If they can keep games close, they're fine to me. I look at this team w/o KD and still think its a playoff team in the west, a Russ/Ibaka pair is still excellent and Adams will be a big upgrade. I do agree this screws the rotations up though.
