Heck, rich man's Big Dog, Carmelo Anthony, isn't a guy you build a contender around, either.

He'll probably score 20 ppg sooner rather than later, and he'll grab 8 or 9 boards, but his defense sucks, his team play sucks, and his level of interest beyond being a star and getting paid will probably suck, too.

Another big dog would be a great get for the Bucks imo. Put some shot blocking defenders in Giannis and Sanders around him and some better guard play their team would look pretty good.

I think Jabaris offensive game looks more like pierce to me than carmelo or big dog tho but he isn't scoring 20 this season.

Giannis and Sanders is a studly duo IMO. The off-court drama resulted in him getting underrated on RealGM.

If Parker isn't putting up big volume numbers it's either because Brandon Knight still can't pass or Parker is worse than I thought. His natural instinct is to put up shots, and he's the only guy who really has any scoring instincts on that team outside of Knight. It might not be 20ppg, but he'll score a lot- it'll just be on mediocre efficiency.

meh. He didn't look to happy about coming off the bench. 4 assists to 1 turnover and half of his shots were from in the paint. I really don't like him off the bench though. It seems to just encourage him to shoot more. More than anyone else, he needs a clear, easy role to play.

Where in the world did you get the impression he didn't like coming off the bench!? I think you're just pulling that out of nowhere. I'm sure he understands that SVG is just mixing up the starters just to try new combos.

No, he definitely came in with a different mindset. He wasn't in full chuck mode, but it was a pretty big change from the prior game. In game 1, he came out and really passed the ball and wasn't even looking for a shot early. He didn't attempt a fg until there was about 3 minutes left in the period. It was all about feeding the bigs. Yesterday, he came in with 2 minutes left in the quarter. He put up an out of control runner and a long 3 before the quarter ended.

He wasn't a malcontent or anything. It's just his personality. When he isn't comfortable and engaged, he presses with his shot. He was clearly a lot more comfortable starting and it showed.

It's a completely different role to come off the bench than it is to start. Coming off the bench, someone like Jennings should be a scorer, taking shots, looking to make plays and get hot quick. The whole reason SVG is running different lineups every game is to experiment with players in different roles.

I would bet that Stan told him to be a facilitator the first game when he was starting, and then in the second game he was probably asked to play like he was going to be a spark off the bench.

Tying this into his personality is a huge stretch. Some people are just out to nit pick every single thing he does wrong. If you guys watched any other player in the league with that type of scrutiny, there'd only be superstar players and then maybe 7 others worth having on the roster.

I find the idea of SVG telling jennings to be a gunner off the bench completely laughable. It would be like telling smith to take every open 3. A major goal of the preseason needs to be getting Jennings better at running the team and committed to playing defense.

And no, your backup pg shouldn't be a gunner. Setting up bench players is every bit as important as setting up the starters.

Well since you know exactly what SVG said, I guess I'll take your word for it.....

Mascots do things like that all of the time. When he was standing on the railing he was over exaggerating the wobbliness of it and I predicted he was going to fall. Other mascots have even gotten into fake fights with fans and stuff like that. It was no coincidence the camera was on him the whole time during that and people were conveniently positioned to spot him and help him down after it happened.
