So, I'm guessing the rankings will look like this:

FSU
Miss St.
Ole Miss
Baylor
Notre Dame

Even though Ole Miss had the Bama win and now A&M, and they were both more convincing, I think since State is more complete of a team, and the voters will nod to that.

I can't wait for FSU to destroy Notre Dame next week. Of course, now that I've been saying that, Notre Dame will win somehow and run to the title game.

I think Miss St might just displace FSU.

I hope both Mississippi schools pass FSU. Don't know if it's going to happen, but it should happen.

I doubt they will, only because FSU has the whole "they've defended the title thus far" type of nonsense thinking behind them.

Oh, and now that Zona lost to USC, I have absolutely no clue how the PAC 12 gets a playoff spot unless Oregon wins out and in very convincing fashion each week.

Maybe you are right, and that would be the wrong thing as the Bulldogs have defeated 3 top ten teams in consecutive weeks.

Working for Miss St though is that the game was on early enough to be seen, and their first quarter start was stunning against the #2 team in the country.

Well they are clearly picked at #1 with 45 1st place votes to FSU's 12. http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings

The ranking is well deserved.

Now, can they hold on to their status?

I'm glad I was wrong about the rankings. Miss St. is completely deserving.

Though, after FSU beats Notre Dame next week, they'll probably leapfrog again.

Really it doesn't matter, since the Mississippi schools will play each other. For FSU on the other hand, leverage in the polls is key. Once they play notre dame there won't be much if anything left on their schedule.

polls don't really matter to fsu. as a defending champ, they ll be in playoffs as long as they are undefeated.

True, but if they are undefeated, they will be no lower than 2nd or maybe 3rd at the end of the year anyway. The only people who could possibly be ahead of them is one of the Miss schools and Baylor. There is a good chance they all lose at some point though.

I kind of hope Notre Dame wins to really shake things up.

It also kind of sucks that a Big 10 team will walk into the playoffs without having to play much of a schedule.

michigan state is going to end up playing 4 games against top 20 teams, that's not worse than schedule of big 12 teams.
