We should focus on bigs if we're dealing. Someone will become available and we have enough depth in the perimeter and the expiring deals to get something done. Fingers crossed that ATL finally decides they're done with the treadmill of mediocrity.

Marion and Allen could have been great veteran additions for us!

But, the handicap of not being a contender made it impossible to happen!!

marion would be a great starting forward next to Melo.

We looked good with Acy and Melo together the question is Acy good enough to start because teams will be leaving him open and make him prove he and dally can score.

I think Jason Smith will eventually start at the 4. Bargs and Amare are just not good fits here. It's as simple as that. Would really like to trade at least one of them but there contracts are albatross's

I love Acy's hustle and even think over time defenses will start to respect his mid range game more. The problem is that he's just too small to be a consistent post defender and I definitely don't want to see Melo banging on the post. Hope Jason Smith can provide starter minutes - I just don't know his game well enough outside jump shooting and the occasional highlight block.

Need K-mart to play the 4 next to Melo.
Dude proved he is quite an adept passer

Kid I really like - who I think would fit perfectly as a back-up SF role player for us is Andre Roberson on OKC.

Watched him start the other night with Westbrook/Durant/P-Jones III/Adams and the kid does alot of really good things on the floor.

- constantly moves
- slasher/cutter
- ball mover
- can really defend the 1, 2, 3 or 4
- outstanding rebounder - attacks both backboards
- outstanding athlete

His offense is shaky at best but I rate his defense and his b-ball IQ over Shumperts. He is a perfect role player for creating flow in the triangle -- even with his poor scoring instincts.

Would not mind seeing us move say Shump/Pablo for package of Roberson/P-Jones II & Nick Collison to make the #s work. Preference would be to get hands on Roberson/Lamb but not sure OKC does that.

Roberson would add true defensive player to our roster and allow Melo to get some rest or play next to Melo if we shift him to the 4. Also - keep improving roster athleticism with Roberson/Jones and handing backup pg spot to Larkin.

Tend to agree on doing Shump/Roberson straight up but would also like to convert older Pablo into a younger asset like P-Jones III who at the very least is long/athletic/skilled.

Anyone here willing to give Eric Gordon a shot?
He seemed to be coming back to form last season & has 2 yrs left (expires 2016). He might be the starting SG next to Calderon & Melo we need.
Judging by some vids of him from last season, he definitely is not in the Amar'e/Brandon Roy bracket.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mqppr7m

Knicks receive: Eric Gordon & Kendrick Perkins
I think Gordon can flourish playing with Jose & Melo. High IQ. Still young.

Pelicans receive: Wilson Chandler, Samuel Dalembert, Randy Foye & Travis Outlaw
Brings balance to their team. Evans at the 2 with Wilson at the 3. Foye is a decent SG off the bench & Dalembert is a good (expiring) defensive big off the bench. Outlaw is an expring & is involved due to salary cap purposes.

Nuggets receive: Andrea Bargnani & Iman Shumpert
Nuggets fans seem desperate to deal Hickson for any expiring & Chandler seems expendable for them. Shump is younger & can fill in well for Chandler plus has history with Gallo. Nuggets can decide to let him expire if they choose or they can keep him whereas Wilson has 2 yrs remaining just like Hickson. Bargs is an expiring for Hickson.

Thunder receive
: JR Smith & JJ Hickson
Scoring punch to help their bench & help Westbrook while KD heals up.

you want us to spend 15mil on an undersized injury prone sg and leave out front court empty? that 15 mil could get you goran dragic, or paul milsap

Well.....that really remains to be seen. The cap can go up a lot more than people think. Plus it's not $15 mil when JR is $6Mil & Shump is around $4 or $5 Mil via cap hold of Gordon's $14 Mil that would be an expiring next year.

In regards to Dragic, would like him but seen recent comments over at a Suns board about him wanting to get a long term deal done with them.

I think Paul Milsap is still doable in this scenario. Gordon wouldn't take up all of our cap space at all. We lose about $4Mil but that's only if the cap doesn't go up some more. Eric Gordon is a playmaker & is an upgrade over any SG we have. Smart player too. He can be a 2nd option on another team. He's 25 & yeah he's been injured but last season he only missed about 10 or so games & when healthy, he puts in work.

Yuck on injury prone, over paid, undersized and not at a position of need Gordon...

Bargs and Outlaw for Josh Smith. He would instantly be our starter at PF and best two way player. He had a down yr but he expires after next season and would be a good complementary player in the triangle(very good passer) and as a bonus we open a spot to sign Wear for the rest of the yr...

1-Calderon-Prigs-Larkin
2-JR-Shump/Hardaway
3-Carmelo-Early-Wear
4-Smith-Stat-Acy
5-Dalembert-Smith-Aldrich

I like my Josh Smith trades more on previous pages. Lol

Plus he doesn't expire after next season like Eric Gordon. He expires in 2017.

My mistake. But Honestly, Smith at 3 yr 14M per is 100 times better than Gordon at 2 yr 15M per. Last yr was an anomaly and he was being played out of position.

Aren't you tired of the Knicks trading for injured over paid players?

I think they're both close in that sense. Gordon actually played better than Smith last season.

Also, Gordon played more games than players like Dwayne Wade & Andre Iguodala last season. He could have played more but coach shut him down at season's end. You're judging Gordon based off his season & a half before last.

He's 25, has time to change the injury prone title, has more playmaking potential than anybody on the Knicks not named Melo & would be a short term risk, unlike giving a 28 yr old (who relies on his athletic ability) a 5 yr deal.

Plus he seems to be a perfect fit for the Triangle. Would take a lot of offensive pressure off of Melo, unlike Josh Smith. To be honest, at this point I would probably look into acquiring both Gordon & Josh Smith for the triangle.

after seeing how people are having difficulty picking up the triangle, with a summer league and a training camp does anyone actually think that they knicks are going to make a big trade this year?

Now that Meeks is down Detroit should be becoming ripe for a robbery. Give em Hardaway Larkin Outlaw for Monroe and Dinwiddie
