For Houston (hopefully a Rockets fan will chime in!)

Protected - Ariza, Beverly, Daniels, Harden, Howard, Jones, Motiejunas, Papanikolaou

Unprotected - Adrien, Canaan, Capela, Dorsey, Garcia, Johnson, Smith, Terry, all the non-guaranteed guys

I was between Papanikolaou and Johnson for the last spot. I used the big vs. small tie-breaker there.

Might as well take a shot at Memphis (again, I claim no authority, so let me know if you think I miss the mark):

Protected: Gasol, Randolph, Conley, Allen, Koufos, Jordan Adams, Jarnell Stokes, Vince
Unprotected: Calathes, C. Lee, Leuer, Pondexter, Prince, Udrih

Tough to choose between Vince and Courtney Lee...if you wanted to argue the other way around, I could see that. I just think Vince's instant-offence fills a greater need, especially since Pondexter and Prince will surely pass through the "expansion draft" and be back on the team.

EDIT -- heh, took me so long that Smitty beat me to it! But my list agrees 100% with his, so that makes me feel better about my choices :)

Initially i found it interesting that three Wolves fans all had different ideas on who to protect. The more I thought about it though, the more sense it made.

MIN has two goals this year. Win with starting vets, and secondarily, develop talented youth.

Each player has different value depending on which goal a fan thinks is more important. if the league had an expansion draft tomorrow, MIn would be hit hard, and forced to choose only one path.

Quick question before the final list is posted — does anyone know if trade kickers effect expansion drafts? For instance, since he was mentioned earlier, I know Deron Williams has a trade kicker that takes his deal from "God Awful" to "You've Gotta Be Kidding Me!" Would being selected in an expansion draft trigger that kicker? Seeing as the expansion team is on a salary cap restriction, I think that would need to be considered. Or, Chuck, since this is your game, do you just wanna arbitrarily rule "Yes" or "No" to keep everyone on the same page?

Trade Kickers will not apply in this.

I don't know if you should feel better or worse! :D It does seem pretty obvious though.

Yeah the Wolves are tough. Two completely different ways you can go with them.

This is a wonderful idea for the dead season. It would be great if a live Expansion Draft could be pulled off.

Here is The Orlando Magic.

Protected

PG: Elfrid Payton
SG: Victor Oladipo
SF: Tobias Harris
PF: Aaron Gordon
C: Nikola Vucevic

Others

SF/SG: Mario Hezonja
SG: Evan Fournier
C/PF: Dwayne Dedmon

Unprotected

PG: C.J. Watson
PF: Channing Frye
PF: Jason Smith
SF: Devyn Marble
PF: Andrew Nicholson
SG: Tyler Harvey
PG: Keith Appling

I would not want to lose Watson but The Magic would be fine otherwise. One of the bottom four would likely be selected unless some team an expansion team to pick Frye for them.

For the record, I think we will see Expansion within the next 5 years.

Lakers Protected:
D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, Lou Williams, Roy Hibbert, Larry Nance Jr, Anthony Brown, Robert Upshaw/Tarik Black

Unprotected:
Kobe Bryant, Nick Young, Ryan Kelly, Brandan Bass, Robert Sacre, Jabari Brown

Lets be honest, no one is taking Kobe, Nick Young, if anyone takes him thats our win, the only one i would be upset about losing is Bass. (Kobe, he may be one of our greatest, but he's becoming a distraction now, a 20PPG distraction but a distraction, if a comparison could be made, he would be our own old yeller)

So.... This was the 2014-2015 list.

I'm not blaming Howard Mass for grave digging, but it might be best just to lock this before it gets too confusing.

I will trust Chuck to get a new one going if he wants on here, but I believe he is doing it on every team's forum and then bringing their lists back here instead.
