It's to make it so the proportion of time spent by stars and superstars on the court increases in relation to the scrubs and Hendo's out there. With fewer minutes available overall, a greater percentage of minutes goes to more skilled players so the best talent in the NBA gets an even greater share of face time compared to other players.

Cliff don't need no tips from D'Antoni. I respect D'Antoni but his system revolves around small ball. He would make Marvin Williams our center and tell Big Al he can't start until he start taking 3s like Bizgilwalker said. Lol

Antekounmpo is underwhelming. MKG is lightyears better than him without the hype.

The only thing the Human Alphabet has on MKG is a 3pt shot

I just find it annoying that everybody talk about Giannis like he's the next coming of something but his production is always lackluster. He was even disappointing playing for his native Greece where he was supposed to be the man.

Yea Giannis is the next Magic Johnson while MKG is a bust.

rookie year stats

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... 01&y2=2013

MKG beats him in everything but 3pt shooting and assists (per 36mins)

MKG is also the better midrange shooter and finisher in rookie year (55% in paint and 29% midrange) to Giannis (53% in paint and 18% midrange) MKG can guard 4 positions also, i wouldn't want to see Giannis guard a PF with his stick figure body

He don't suck. I like him and his game combined with his length and height. He's just massively overrated before he even did anything. I understand the hope and potential but I doubt he'll ever be more than a good 3rd option on a winning team.

We missed out on Nerlens Noel. He put up 11 pts, 12 reb, 3 ast, 4 stl, and 1 block tonight.

Giannis is 100% raw ability right now. The right coach could definitely make him a star. Jason Kidd appears to be trying to turn him into a PG which would be a matchup nightmare for the rest of the league.

Tryna run PG wasn't a nightmare for anybody but Giannis tonight. He had zero assist. He's not a playmaker, just a lengthy athletic freak that can run the floor. Them shorter PGs would give him hell tryna get up the court since he gotta dribble high and he's so slender.

The game against the Bulls is on NBA TV, besides that no. Gotta rely on pies and radio this preseason.

Greece has some very good experienced players. He absolutely wasn't supposed to be the man. If Spanoulis and Fotsis had played, Giannis might have not seen the floor on some games. European coaches tend to look down on young and raw NBA talent and they rather play established vets on whom they can rely on every game. Motiejunas is still getting benched every other game for team Lithuania after a few mistakes and JV just broke out during the second half of the tournament after having the same problems D-Mo has. The fact that someone's a young NBA player doesn't mean he's supposed to be the man for his national team.

Greece tried to play Giannis Antetokounmpo up to his NBA hype heavy minutes early on in the FIBA process but he didn't produce, so they started limiting his minutes. Indeed he is overrated. I've always compared his ceiling to a next generation Nicolas Batum if he ever develop consistent 3-point range and I doubt I'd have to deter from that comparison at his peak

That moreso has to do with the quality of the opponents they faced early on. And even then he only played 14 minutes against Philippines.

Thanks, so at least now I know that Greece don't overrate Antetokounmpo like parts of the NBA does, particularly pundits & fans. Even Calathes played a more integral role on their national team
