Drew has already matched Wes' preseason career high for points in a game.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
If wiggins averages 16ppg I'll be very happy , I see people thinking 18-20..
If he can average anything over 14 his rookie year he's going to be a stud, his primary strengths are his athleticism and defense, we already know he can do that , scorings the big question mark with him and from the pre season to SL I think he's shown the ability to score but we'll see,
SL he's getting guarded by other rookies
Nba season he's getting guarded by the best in the league almost every night
So he might not average crazy numbers off the bat but man am I excited to see how he develops ,
Just imagine if all the talent on our team pans out , it will be a good day to be a twolves fan .

I think it makes the most sense to start Dieng and bring Pek off the bench. I would rather Wiggins be a higher priority offensively for his development. If he starts with Rubio, Martin, Thad and Pek then he's probably a 4th option on most offensive possessions. I think Starting Rubio, Martin, Wiggins, Thad and Gorgui gives a great balance between offense and defense, gives the team shooting and rim protection and rebounding, Pek on the second unit will absolutely demolish while he will still probably be the guy who finishes games. I'm certainly not expecting anything over 15 per game and I'll be very happy with low teens, great defense and the ball in his hands a good deal to aid his development.

Some interesting thoughts. I never played any higher level of basketball, so I like learning about different offensive and defensive schemes and what a player is required to do.

This was nicely done. I saw at least three times where he was coming off a screen where he should have passed to the attacking wing player for what should have been an easy lay up but instead took offbalance jumpers. Kid is raw but the tools are definitely there.

At first I thought you were crazy, but it does make sense. But I don't see the wolves paying PEK 12 million to come off the bench.
Although I think the "roles" are insignificant and only PT matters in our case right now.

This argument is so overstated around here. That doesn't mean nearly as much when the guy who would be starting is making $1.4m.
Flip has already said repeatedly that he's going to lower Pek's minutes to try to keep him healthy through the season.

Did you read the rest of my post?
I said that roles are insignificant and only PT matters, so as long as PEK is getting his 28 minutes there is no problem.

Really nice work, man! One thing tho, Wiggins imo avoids attacking with the dribble in the 2 man game because his dribble isn't good, not because he doesn't understand the concept of a PnR. That's one thing he'll have to upgrade if he wants to be a superstar.

Remember when all those Cavs fans said there was ABSOLUTELY no way Wiggins would be included in the deal? Good times.

Pek played next to a 26 point game player and was fine. Let Wiggins develop without putting the world on his plate from the get go. The guy is only 19

If that's what you got from reading that then fine but that's not in any way, shape or form what I said or suggested.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Some Wolves fan on Twitter yesterday was RT'ing a bunch of Cavs fans old tweets who were saying there was no way that Cleveland would include Wiggins in any Love deal. "Minnesota has no leverage!!!11!1!" Good times. Props to whoever that was, if you're on here.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
I've been having Wolves withdrawl for a week now thank God they're playing tonight
Seriously, Wiggins is the most exciting player in the NBA to me right now. I've always likened him to him to a gazelle, the way he's light on his feet and trots around the court ever so gracefully but can turn on the afterburners when needed especially in transition or on defense.
I love his story as well, overhyped, then underappreciated. The kid has had a great attitude and mindset through all of this. I am sure that he's thirsty inside to prove the Cavs wrong but he's going about it the right way, he's not trying to do too much right now yet can still remain very effective. Seems like a team-oriented guy as well which is what this team needs to grow properly.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
I know it's a good ways away, but how awesome will it be to see Wiggins and LeBron go at it some when the Wolves and Cavs play. Obviously LeBron has the edge, but it'll be neat to see how that unfolds....if Wiggins takes LeBron not wanting him personally and goes right at him.

I am so freaking excited about the Wolves with Wiggins leading the way!
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Andrew Wiggins, made the top overall pick in this year's NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers only to be dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a package for Kevin Love in a span of two months, has settled into his new surroundings, buying a home in Minneapolis for $1.625 million.
The two-story residence, on nearly half an acre in Cedar-Isles-Dean, features raised ceilings and an indoor basketball half-court -- two selling points that likely appealed to the 6-foot-8 forward. The more than 6,000 square feet of living space also contains an updated kitchen with a breakfast bar, a studio, a yoga room, four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
