Percy Harvin traded to the Jets for a conditional pick. WTF?!

They're selling low but it makes some sense for them. Granted, you can work on a pay cut or something but it makes sense when you have Russell Wilson due to get a $20 million pay hike soon to not be paying Harvin $11 million/year or whatever it is. He was doing OK some weeks but must not have been fitting in enough.

No way it's a money issue in the middle of this year when they are trying to repeat for a title. Harvin has been known to have a volatile personality so this has to be something related to that for Seattle to trade him at this time and for likely just a mid-round pick. It will come out soon enough who Harvin clashed with and how for this trade to go down when it did.

Harvin hasn't been spectacular this season, for the most part, but he is easily their most dynamic offensive player outside of Wilson. I can't imagine they'd salary dump him in the middle of a potential repeat run without something going on behind the scenes.

Apparently he had issues with Taint last year and RW this year. For an organization as smart as the Seahawks this must've been something major.

History of confrontations w/ teammates contd in SEA according to my guy including punching G Tate during SB week & near fight w/ Wilson in ‘14
Guessing that's why Harvin is now with the Jets. Though I applaud him for punching that douche Tate. Nice to not have to worry about him in a potential playoff game either.

Harvin might be the most overrated player in the last few years.

I don't agree when he's healthy, which isn't often. Hell, he had three really good TD's called back via offensive penalties. The thing is though, he's not a traditional receiver, so he needs certain schemed plays precisely for him to get out in space where he can use his great running skills. The change moving kickoffs to the 35 yard line also hurt his value given his return skills.
Between all of the injuries though and personality issues, Seattle did overpay for him in term of draft picks and contract. He had to be a major jerk in the locker room given cutting ties cost Seattle nearly 14 million in dead money.

Was this intentional? If not, it might be the best auto-correct ever.

Speaking of the Dolphins and Bills, for as great as Brady and Belichick have been for over a decade, man have they been fortunate to play in the AFC East that whole time. I heard yesterday that Brady/Belichick are 23-2 vs the Bills during that time. Miami has been mediocre to bad most years. The Jets had a few good years, but more often were very mediocre to bad. It's been a near lock for a division title for a decade plus.
It really comes down the QB play. The Pats have had Brady the whole time while the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins have been cycling in spare parts most of the time.

I thought it was agreed we would all call him Golden Taint

The only person that matters on that Seattle offense, other than their OLine, is Lynch.

Easily? I think it's at least debatable.

A healthy Harvin at the very least is someone you have to gameplan/watch out for, this is good news.

Sometimes these trades are like addition by subtraction.
I don't think this is one of those times.

Backhandedly suggesting RW isn't a great player? Um...no that's not right.

You'd be surprised. Statistically they're a better offense with him off the field and Wilson's QB rating is significantly better.
I thought bringing him in was a great move, but I didn't know he was such a colossal douche. They won the Owl without him last year so I think they will be fine, and might even be better without the distraction.

I did not know any of that. I know he was struggling to find his role but I still thought he was a pretty good weapon for them to have.
