Butler will make the final 15

Post#1 » by hands11 » Sun Oct 12, 2014 7:07 pm

I'm sold and convinced they will keep him.

From what I heard its a non guaranteed contract so why wouldn't they.

He looks legit.

Yes based on things I saw in todays game.

He played real well the first half.

Things didn't go his way the 2nd half but the game is not to big for him and he has some skills and the confidence to use them.

He seems to have confidence, I'll give you that. But he played only well on offense the first half. His defense was awful the first half, and his offense and D were not good the second half. To me, he looks like a journeyman that will be in and out of the league for a long time. I think people are going to be disappointed if they are hoping that he will be a competent replacement for Beal.

Well, given that he's fighting for the 15th roster spot, I don't think you can really ask for much of anything.

There isn't a player out there that is a replacement for Beal that wouldn't cost you over 10M

John Wall backs Xavier Silas

The Wizards' star asked the front office to bring him back to training camp, according to a report.

With depth needed to cover for Bradley Beal's injury, the Wizards have shown that Silas may get first priority to fill that empty roster spot if he continues to play well.

This guy's professional. He works hard. He's going to stay ready.'"

Silas had been working out at Verizon Center as a free agent long before the summer began.

His defense has to be better. He still created opportunities for others in shooting 2-for-9. Said one scout, "Two things about Xavier Silas: One, he can shoot the ball. Two, he's not afraid to shoot the ball."

Updated for the CHA game.

Dude is looking good.

Couple more games to go. Its a battle for that spot if they are going to fill it.

I'm guessing you wrote this before that utterly putrid second half.

LOL

I did.

Neither has played well for a entire game.

Rusual makes the final 15... the lost files.

After what we've seen so far you kind of have to give the nod to Butler.

Gawd. All three of them are awful. I'm least sold on Silas because each of the other two brings atleast one thing. James- energy and hustle. Butler - sporadic three point shooting.

I still have a sense that the answer will be none of the above.

Butler makes threes and FTs. We are desperate for shooters at this point.

Another poor planned job by Grunfeld for not having the foresight of adding a youngish wing during the summer.

When will Bulter sign? Who will they cut to make room?

Agreed. With Beal and Webster both out, I think Rasual Butler is the guy that fills the gap the best. Assuming, of course, that Ray Allen doesn't sign here.
