OKC Thunder 2014/15 Regular Season Game Thread

Well, a week away and the regular season begins guys. Usually there isn't enough traffic for game threads for each game, but we can see how long it takes to fill a thread. I don't know what to expect to start, but this should be interesting. Can't even post a lineup because I don't know! Here's hoping for the best.

With Durant out, should their goal to be around a 600 winning percentage?

I'd honestly be happy with breaking even while he's out.

.700. Even without Durant they are a top 3, if not top 2, team in the West unless Brooks terribly screws up the rotation. Let's compare them to the Clippers just to make the point.

Russ > CP3
Ibaka = Griffin
Adams = Jordan
Morrow = Reddick
PJ3 = Matt Barnes
Reggie > Crawford
Lamb > Farmer
Collison = Davis
Perkins < Hawes

I would be thrilled if they go .500

The results of these preseason games mean nothing, but all the injuries kept them from getting much done. Any goals Brooks had, as far as improving the offense , have to be set aside.

Then KD goes down, and they must revamp how they play basketball, and everyone is injured. They will have to play reg season games and continue to adjust.

We have a team built around KD, and rightly so. Just can not take him out, and then immediately start playing a different style .

And IMO, we have too much inexperience to make that change quickly. The team got younger this year, its perpetually young.

I'm torn on the record. Was originally w/ Kizz, but after the preseason I feel like over .500, assuming KD's back pre-Xmas.

A lot will depend on the rotation. You can see by the players I listed who I expect to be in the rotation. If Brooks comes out and starts Russ, Reggie, PJ3, Ibaka and Adams I like OKC to do just fine without KD. If Brooks runs Russ, Morrow, Roberson, Ibaka and Perkins out there .500 might be a best case scenario.

I guess we can eliminate him from starting line up talk. This is going to be an interesting start to the season. Lamb, PJ3 and Roberson will get plenty of opportunity to prove they belong. Reggie will probably get more playing time also. I'd rather get the injuries over with early than have them show up in the playoffs.

Alright, if this team goes .500 through 20 games its a miracle. I have no idea.

You don't know if they might be injured again. Injures occurred anytime or day.

Let's hope this team can manage with few of our guys out. Lamb, Jones, Roberson, needs to contribute or we're ****...

While this is true I'll play the math. Last year the Thunder had about 80 games without starters. All teams deal with injuries during the season. In theory, they balance out over time. I want a healthy team going into the playoffs and I don't care if they are a 1 seed or an 8 seed. I have complete confidence in this team, if healthy, to go into the playoffs as an 8 seed and win a title.

Injuries continue to pile up for the Thunder.

Two more players, Andre Roberson and Perry Jones, sat out Saturday’s practice session with what is believed to be minor aches. Roberson is nursing a sore ankle. Jones has a sore right knee.

They're just playing it safe.
If it was the regular season we would not have even heard about those minor aches.
