Remember the howls when we took Acy over Miller in the 2nd round Miller just released and Acy might be the starting PF in NY.

Acy was a waste of a pick. Quincy has ability and could flourish on a team with playing time, ie Detroit, Pelicans

Depends on what you mean by suck. Deng and Bosh are not bad players and Wade for 60 games is decent as well.
The individual parts are decent, but Spo running the same spread offense isn't generating the same quality looks without the army of snipers spotting up from behind the arc or a deadly off the dribble creator to converge the defense. Wade's post game is looking good, but I don't know if he'll be able to draw the double-teams that LeBron was able to. If he can then that opens up a lot more opportunities for their offense. Their issue will most likely be their defense. Harden and Dwight eviscerated their defense last night getting whatever shots they wanted.

Damn Kobe doesn't have the same burst of quickness anymore. He's way too reliant on his post game now.

yeah I'm really pissed about this as well. We always talk about team chemistry and familiarity, Ed would be perfect here for a cheap price. Seeing Ed distraught when he got traded just breaks your heart. Bring Ed home!

Re: Official General NBA Discussion Thread
Who are your fantasy sleepers? And players to stay away from?
First time doing a fantasy league . Did it once, but took over a team mid-way and ditched after a few weeks.
What are general rules to follow?
Ill try and fill SG,C,SF,PG/PF in that order.
Go for players where a significant player has left, or a player will have an increased role.
Anything else?

A common strategy is to draft a ton of big men and point guards early, and then use SGs and SFs in the later rounds to give you 3's. As for sleepers:
Jared Sullinger
Kelly Olynyk
Timofey Mozgov
Jameer Nelson
Jeremy Lin
George Hill
A good amount of players that go to Dallas seem to be able to up their stats from the year prior on another team. If Nelson can shoot above .450%, maintain his high assists output, while giving you two 3's a game, he's going to be a steal.
Lin has honestly looked like the Lakers best player. Could average 15/8 to go along with a steal and a 3 pointer, that's mid round value.
Mozgov could be this year's Robin Lopez; good points, rebounds, FG%, FT%, blocks, and low Turnovers.
Some people think that Stuckey and CJ Miles will be the one to fill the void of Indiana's lack of offense, but I think it's George Hill. His stats dipped last year because of the emergence of Lance Stephenson. Now there's no Lance, no George, Hill is going to have to step up.
Olynyk I don't think is worth the risk taking on unless you're in a really deep league, but fantasy is often about who gets the most playing time on their team, and Olynyk looks like he can give you late round value with 3's and rebounds.
Sullinger is my biggest sleeper of the year. Had sort of a midlife crisis last year with his role when Brad Stevens asked him to become a stretch big. He seems to have embraced that this year and worked a lot on his long range jumper. Might be a poor mans Kevin Love that'll give you points, rebounds, FT%, 3's, and assists.

Thanks for the drafting strategy. Wasnt gonna ask anyone in my league for help on how to draft lol.
Makes sense with most SFs being able to shift into the SG spot, that the low-depth of SG wouldnt matter in fantasy. Surprised about the PGs being a priority, but makes sense. Few elite, but many good ones. Thats probably true about SF as well
Lin should definitely benefit from his situation in LA right now and was the first person I thought of.
Agree with you on the IND situation, Hill should skyrocket. Many other people could benefit from that situation.
Also, I say Ariza should do better with the weak bench of Houston and with the loss of Parsons.
Steven Adams is also fairly unknown to breakout for more casual fans Im surprised at how low Z-Bo is ranked and plan to scoop him up and have him on my bench.
If I have to choose 1 from the #3 to #10 spots, itd be Curry - > Westbrook(No Durant) -> Cousins - > Wall(no Beal) -> CP3 (injury/age concerns)
Id love it if i came out of 2 rounds with:
Westbrook/Ibaka

That's more boards total than what Bargs routinely pulled down after 5 games.

People with knee injuries or any injury for that matter would appreciate how hard a guy like Kobe may have to work now, he's aged and has had a couple of significant injuries late in his career. I'm not even his fan but just watching him makes me appreciate his hard work, i'll definitely miss him because I grew up in his era along with other players (vc/tmac/Ai/duncan/kg etc)

I can never hate on hard work, but Kobe needs to realize when it's time to step down and hand the torch to someone else. Kobe made a lot of his points against Phoenix but it was in a way sad seeing him play. He was so adamant about defying father time at the expense of his team. There was just no flow to the offense once he checked in.

He's too much of an ego-maniac to change his game and adapt to the times. I would rather have VC than Kobe at this point.

Yeah lol Kobe will be Kobe, I don't even watch them play so I have no idea how he did, only referring to that clip someone posted and just his one on one in clutch... just seemed so damn hard for him, how hard it may have been just to establish position and get a shot off over a great defender. I always called him Kome, people can call me a hater but I'm a fair critique.

I like Bosh but I'm not sure how good he can be. With Wade it's always a question of health and even when healthy, it's clear he's nowhere near prime Wade.
What's gonna be interesting is how they fare vs their Division. Charlotte, Atlanta and Washington are tough competition. I don't exactly mind a 1-8 matchup with Cavs v Heat to be honest.
