Nash is expected to be ruled out for the 2014-15 NBA season because of recurring nerve damage in his back, according to league sources.

Welp! Hope he announces retirement. Sad way to go for a true legend.

Excellent news for Jeremy Lin and the future of the Lakers.

i'm sure it's tough for a legend to let go, but man, go enjoy yourself before you end up permanently injured.

I think at this point, he is already permanently injured. He should leave before he has trouble walking for the rest of his life.

he should have retired last year. I wonder who we will get as a backup. Our pg depth is thin with only Lin and Clarkson. I miss Marshall.

The sad part about it is that he actually looked pretty decent in the first pre-game season.

It's a shame. Damn Damian Lillard! Would have been a different NBA universe had Nash's leg not been broken.

Oh well.

Stay healthy, Steve. You were an amazing competitor.

So at this point a disabled player exemption would be the best for the team (and Nash)?

Mitch needs to be smart and use the DPE for Nash. That's if we get it, probably gonna be a few days before Steve figures out what he want's to do.

Sorry to say this but I saw this coming from Day 1, Nash was done as an impact player way before he left the Suns.

Good thing Ronnie Price is looking like a solid veteran backup at the moment. Wonder who we'd try to sign if we did get an exemption....

Lin/Price/Clarkson
Kobe/Ellington
Wes/Swaggy/X
Boozer/Randle/Kelly
Hill/Davis/Sacre

Clarkson obviously could backup Kobe too...X sounds like he may miss significant time, so another wing?

Man I feel bad for Steve Nash. So, its true he's out for the season and he really tried to comeback from this nerve issue. This will go down as the WORST Lakers trade in history but if your human and a competitor you gotta feel for the guy. He's going to retire after this

REGARDLESS OF WHAT PEOPLE SAY SALUTE TO ONE OF THE GREAT PGS I GOT TO WITNESS HIS FULL CAREER WITH MY OWN TWO EYES.

But that medical exception could be thrown at a guy like Ray Allen to get us a legit 3 point shooter who can spread the floor out there. We already missed out on getting Sessions, and there isnt much else out there in regards to who we could bring in that can actually make an impact

Would love to take a chance at Peyton Siva.
