you mean you don't remember? after making the CP3 trade Olshey was still the least paid GM and only one without a contract. He asked for a contract from Tukowitz but he declined. Portland gave him a multiyear, multimillion dollar deal to sign and Neil took that to Sterling once again and asked for a half the salary but a written contract, and was told good bye, that Sterling doesn't believe in giving his employees a contract but prefer just month to month salary.
ehhhhh f it.

Man I wish Neil Olshey was still the Clipps GM.. Doc is terrible. This would be a sick roster from top to bottom if Olshey was handling the GM duties. It was sad that Sterling didn't want to pay the man with a real contract, he had no choice but to leave

Wow. Nope, did not remember how it went down.

I'm just glad we don't have to worry about Sterling anymore. I remember that he never gave his employees contracts. I can't blame Olshey or anyone from the Clippers leaving for a better situation and guaranteed employment.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Although not perfect, our roster IS better than last year. If anything, it's the coaching which is at fault for 'under performance' not the GM skill.

Now keep in mind he inherited Blake, Cp3, DJ, Crawford. Yes Doc is a great coach no question about it... but as a GM :banghead:

-Blotched the Bledsoe deal in the worst way possible.. really nothing to show for it
-Signed Byron Mullins and Jamison- trash and washed up
-Traded Dudley and gave the Bucks a 1st rounder.. currently Dudley in Milwaukee is better than Barnes, Bullock, CDR combined
-Released Radulijca the big 7 foot Euro who was part of the Dudley deal. He went on to have a good FIBA world cup tourney and would've been lovely to have coming off the bench behind DJ.
-We have SG's galore but yet he drafts yet another shooting guard that he wont play when we needed a SF in the worst way possible. Passed Kyle Anderson, KJ McDaniels, Cleanthony Early, Glenn Robinson III. Maybe they ride the bench as well but at least they give him different looks when subbing if needed. He already won't play Bullock who's now leaning toward bust category. He could've traded him for the Zeller kid in Cleveland last season. That trade was on the table. He rebounds and would've been a nice backup in the playoffs for DJ instead of Big Baby and Ryan Hollins.
-resigned out of shape and washed up Big Baby and Hedo( Hedo might can contribute though)
-Udoh looks bad and unmotivated
-Farmar is mediocre. I hope Cunningham becomes CP3's backup eventually.

-IMO the only good signings are Hawes and maybe Jared Cunningham(hopefully)

Like I said I love Doc as our coach. He weathers the storm and brings confidence and respectability to the organization.. plus he's expanding Blakes, Cp3's and DJ's games to new heights BUT his GM moves have been gawd-awful.. nothing but head scratchers

yeah i agree that we could have gotten much more out of that Bledsoe deal. but we all knew we couldn't keep him and got a better fitting starter at a smaller contract than the one EB was asking for. but yes we definitely undersold Eric. I think the timing of the deal was crucial here tho. JJ would have gone elsewhere if we didn't pull the trigger on it on timely fashion and even then Sterling nearly botched it.

Mullens and Jamison.... :noway:

I agree with this too. trading Dudley away is one thing, but to tack on a 1st rounder.... at least we gotta hope we win it all the year before that draft and its practically a second rounder. but it was actually much more of a cap space opening move than anything else so i get it. but still I agree with you we probably could have given then a pair of second rounders for it.

Radulijica thing bothered me too. he was super slow and yes he wouldn't fit with the lob city crew but he would have eaten up so much space and give us that old school low post scoring threat with our second unit. I really wanted him.

as far as drafting CJ, i hated it at first too, but i have come to conclude that running a 3 guard formation is just our style, and we will need depth in course of a season with injury prone guys like JJ and Farmar with us. there may even be a chance of running Crawford - CJ - Bullock for a few games in late 4th quarter if injuries mount up. So Im neutral on this one now.

yes davis and hedo were a surprise to have back and Farmar is mediocre.

but Hawes will prove to be a pivotal signing.

overall, i think your criticism is valid. but we will have to see what doc can do with this group first before handing out judgements. lets see how we come out for the season opener.

IMO the worst moves he has made are:
the whole dudley scenario (give up Bled to get him, give up a pick to get rid of him),
not drafting Kyle Anderson!!!!!!!,

Best moves: JJ & Hawes

I will never be angry at Doc for signing questionable 2nd/3rd string players but not addressing our basic team need of a starting SF is very frustrating. Since we don't have any great defending SGs, our 3-guard lineup will always be "let's just try to score more than them" which is great until you get to the playoffs. Teach us defense or get a SF!

complete overreaction and bad spin on everyone of those moves and I was the biggest Kyle Anderson supporter on this forum (I'm sure of it if we go back and look at the thread).

late 1st round picks are not that valuable.
we can quit acting like they are.

2 things about the draft picks

Late 1sts are like scratch-offs or raffle/lotto tickets for contending teams. The odds are totally not in your favor, but there's always that chance. Mostly a bunch of "sorry try again's", but every now and then you get lucky. Jimmy Butler, Chandler Parsons, Lance Stephenson, TaJ Gibson, DeAndre Jordan, Marc Gasol, Nikola Pekovic, Goran Dragic, George Hill (plus he was traded by the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard), Isaiah Thomas, Draymond Green and a few others could have been had with a late 1st rounder in the last 6 or 7 years.

The other is that old habits are hard to break. Draft time was our thing, our only hope.
