Silas and James both played well in preseason games. They keep Rasual Butler and have 15. Temple and/or Seraphin would be obvious cuts if they need to sign help elsewhere during the season.

I hate this team's bias toward older players. James is better than Butler.

They obviously want someone who shoots the 3. Butler does that. James has no history of doing it.

Just posted this in the game thread. Its was between Lucas and Butler. Butler is the right pick.

Rasual Butler is 35 years old. James is 27, the better defender, and a far more versatile player.

I wanted James as well. Seemed like a solid forward who possibly could have contributed year long. I'm not mad Butler is staying, because we did need 3 pt shooting, but it just seems like they aren't willing to gamble a little. Butler is a known commodity, James could still find a nice niche in this offense and could have value after this season as well possibly. If they aren't going to spend 2nd rounders on young players I guess it was foolish of me to think they'd keep a "youngish" player as well...

Not keeping Lucas III is a step in the right direction I suppose.

EG fails again.

No urgency to find wing depth this summer,

Wizards apparently also reached out to Julyan Stone. http://wizofawes.com/2014/10/24/washing ... ba-rumors/

If Butler outplayed James and Silas in preseason, then he probably deserves it. Like others, I'm not expecting much, but I don't think I would anyways with a 15 man type. I probably would have tried to go with someone younger- maybe the Wizards will or could have found someone else from the d-league.

I think EG could have done a better job by taking Jordan Clarkson. Still, I'm not sure how good any team's depth truly is if you are missing a starter in Beal and a quality rotation player in Webster.

It is unclear where the Wizards would rank in terms of depth if you take out your best wing and one of best guy off the bench(if I had to guess it would be average) so I'm not sure if I would go as far to say that EG has failed in this instance.
