Hornets Unveil Activities for Season Opener

Some highlights:

MJ impersonator at halftime

New Hornets elements in the seating bowl and concourse

Commemorative ticket and "tuxedo" tshirt

I'm not going but hope they pick up some of that impersonator in the TV broadcast.

I'm heading back to my home in Charlotte to catch the game Saturday against the Grizzlies if anyone wants to meet up.

They're going to be surpised when the attendance isn't as improved as they think it will be.

Those prices are tested and adjusted for the market well in advance of the Grand Opening. The team invests big money in these marketing experts. I think if the price says $50, they know they can get it. I'm ignoring opening night. The Grizz game will be the one where you can work a cluster of scalpers (they work in teams) for a last minute ticket below face. I've done it before. I'm looking at $20 tops on that game from a scalper at the end of his shift. If not, I cross the restricted area and pay face at the window. Works every time - like a car lot - you physically move away from the seller and he reacts by negotiating. If I don't like the negotiation, I keep walking and turn away. They always cave, unless you're a dick to them. Then they'll screw themselves just to screw you.

That would be an embarrassing sign to appear on ESPN. I pray nobody embarrasses me like this. I don't want to be associated with amateur fan boys. :D

according to this http://espn.go.com/nba/tickets?gameId=400578296 they have 1.3k tickets left ranging between 39 and 1266 dollars, they should be able to sell most of them by game time

Maybe by the end of the season they'll be done with construction on trade street outside the stadium. It's absurd how long they've been at it. Stupid street car.

Im so jealous of you guys its not even funny. I would have to take vacation time (which I dont have) jump on a plane (hate flights) and spend money on hotel room if I wanted to go to opening night. I will have to catch them when they go to NY and Boston.

I'm resigned to seeing them play at the Nets or Knicks. More likely the Nets. Tickets to MSG are ridiculous.
