But if you take a look at that Houston bench, it's brutal, especially offensively. For a team that is supposedly looking to contend, they can't seriously be thinking of a dinosaur like Jason Terry being the only consistent offense off the bench.

JR Smith
Cleanthony Early or Shane Larkin

for

Jason Terry

Knicks guarantee Smith's 6m is off the books for 2015. When you consider a 4 yr. contract that's TONS more money to offer a free agent. Rockets get a head case who on his worst day is still an acceptable sixth man and can thrive in their (lack of a) system.

Surprisingly I would actually want Morey to as long as we don't give up anything of value and possibly get back a 2nd

I say this because I think smith would help us next year and I bet he opts out because he would be behind harden

JR Smith for Jason Terry works cap wise.

Jr,outlaw,bargs

to philly for

jr rich, Mbah moute

Instead of receiving amare they take bargs lesser contract and still add money to their cap, we take back two exp and still have room for wear
J.R. Smith's last-second whiff left the Knicks with a sixth straight loss. But J.R. would do it again. "I think we went with the best shot," he said.

JR Smith
Samuel Dalembert

for

Kendrick Perkins

Basically the Knicks give OKC an incentive to take the extra year on JR's deal without giving up a future asset. Short term downgrade but better for the future. Also should help result in a higher draft pick.

Although I don't see any way we can get Klay Thompson, does he fit well into our system alongside Melo? I've heard comparisons to Allan Houston on NBATV and he is clearly a gifted shooter. I don't watch too many Warriors games to have a real feel for his play.

I'd definitely trade JR for him though...

Klay Thompson is a much better defender than Houston IMO (not exactly hard to do)...but not as good a shooter or offensive player overall.

This is interesting, but I would feel bad for Dalembert. He seems to really want to be here. I am totally okay with Perkins, I like his toughness, but I think OKC likes him too much to deal him, and they are developing Adams anyhow.

I do see a need for them to have JR, but I don't know if they take this risk or try to do something clever later on. What they really need is a post presence, and trading Perk might get them that. Still JR to OKC makes a lot of basketball-sense.

- creates a 2m TPE
- saves $2 million in salary as well as something like $4m in luxury taxes, more than enough money to buy back our picks.

JR Smith can be a solid 6th man. He just isn't start material.

Im pretty sure Jr will opt out after this season.

Jodie Meeks got a 6M per yr deal. Lance got 9. Jr probably thinks hes just as good as Lance and is much better than Meeks. I dont think its crazy to think that he will opt out, especially if he has a bounce back season.

If Jose wont be ready, Fish may start both Shump and JR on the back-court!!

While vs Cavs he may play Acy (or Amare) instead of Jason Smith who probably will start vs Bulls

I think it's refreshing to have a GM who makes trades without there being weeks of speculation on it.... Jax just makes something happen and the first word in media about it is that it's been done already.

When JR is playing with the bench unit (who as a whole really haven't grasped the system nearly as well as the starters - I guess that's why they're backups) things get messy and we get introduced to the pimp named stepback. He's not a very good player, or one that most teams would start, I agree, but at least when he's starting he can play off the other guys as a spot up shooter where he's best.

The Lakers are going to get a medical exception for Nash. Offer them JR for that.

You could expand it to get back Lin and send them Prigioni.

since Spurs are hesitant to give Kawhi Leonard max, we can propose a sign and trade and we send them shump and whoever they want. He gets his max, they don't loose him for nothing, we're all happy
