46 to 51. I think the 8th seed will win less than 48 games this season.

I don't think we're as good as last season so I took my prediction back a notch from last season's record. I think 41-45 is possible considering we're probably good enough to beat many middling teams just on our depth alone but we'll also lose a fair few being abused in the paint. Last season we surprised a lot of teams with guys like Plumlee, Green, Bledsoe and our bench which very few team prepared for and also our new coach who no one really knew what kind of game he'll bring to the Suns. This season, teams will be game planning more diligently, they will have a better understanding of Horny's offensive/defensive schemes and also the loss of Frye will affect a the game of a number of our players.

52-54 if the Suns key players stay healthy for 70+ games this year. Last year, had Bledsoe not spent 30+ games on the injured list, the Suns could have easily passed that win total. They lost Frye, whom I've always thought was a big part of the Suns success, but I do think they can find a way to replace him. Imagine if the Suns had IT instead of Ish Smith last season... They might have been a 60 win team. I'm going with the optimistic crowd here. Plumlee won't surprise people this year, but he'll be better than he has in preseason, as will the MoBros. The Suns played like the didn't really care in the preseason and still went 5-2, with one of those being very questionable, and the other coming down to the last couple possessions. I expect Bledsoe to have the drive to prove he's worth more than the Suns ended up giving him, and that he can stay healthy and produce all season.

I really have no clue about this team so I went big for the hell of it, 55 - 57.

Aside from the possibility of Bledsoe staying healthy for 70+ games, there are two good reasons to be optimistic:

1. Isaiah Thomas: Last year, there were approximately an average of 10 minutes per game when neither Dragic or Bledsoe was on the court. That meant Barbosa or Ish was leading us. Those guys were 11th and 12th of 15 on our team in WS/48 last season. IT is five steps above them. His ability to attack on offense is going to be huge for us late in the 3rd and early in the 4th. Now, instead of seeing a 5-7 point lead fall to even, we should often be able to hold onto or even slightly increase that lead.

Even when Dragic or Bledsoe are on the court, IT can provide extra ball movement and keep the offense from going on those frustrating droughts we sometimes saw when (particularly) Dragic was the only ball-handler on the court.

2. Alex Len: Everyone knows our weakness has been lack of a formidable big. All the preseason talk was about Len's improvement, and it seemed to go beyond coachspeak. I know it was against a bad team, but just watching the way he moved around last night, it was clear he was a different animal from last year.

I think that the schedule will be a little tougher this year, but we will also be better. I say 50 or 51 wins.
