NBA league pass question

Post#1 » by LukasBMW » Wed Oct 29, 2014 9:23 am

My home office is on the second floor. With my computer directly connected to my modem via an LAN line, I'm banging 30+ mbps for download speed.

My TV is down stairs and I have a second computer connected to it so I can have internet (and league pass) on a big screen and chill on my couch. But I cannot run an LAN downstairs so I'm forced to use a wireless connection. My internet provider (Time Warner - they suck nuts) told me that there should not be much of a speed difference, but there is as I'm only getting 8-9 mbps downstairs via the wireless connection.

Is 8-9 mbps good enough for NBA league pass? Or will performance suffer?

If I'm going to have problems with the league pass feed, then I guess I'll just run a very long LAN cable downstairs. ???

Shouldn't have a problem I don't think.

I run Intl LP through wi-fi on laptop, iPad and iPhone at separate times and I've never had an issue. And my wi-fi sucks, like 16 mbps max...Generally don't get near that and max download speeds top out at like 2-3mb and it's still fine.

You may need to let it buffer a bit. I watch on the PS3 & I usually pause it for 2 minutes then don't have a problem the rest of the night.

I tried to load the Orlando/NOP game last night and just got a black screen. I may try it again tonight and if it doesn't work go with ballstreams instead.

Just signed up with ballstreams yesterday, so far so good. Much cheaper, no blackouts, Suns games in the Phoenix area (cancelled my cable and LP blacks out Suns games here  ). Best is you can freeze your account anytime. So if you get a 1 year subscription you actually get more than one season out of it.

Is there a invitation process to this? I signed up for ballstreams over a month ago but haven't heard back from them regarding a sign up!

Any insight?

Never used it, signed up last night and noticed an invitation in my email this morning.

If you sign up using a reflink you should get your invitation on email within 12-24 hours. PM me if you need a reflink :)

I think I got my invite within 20 minutes but it depends on where you are located and what server u would be using from what I read. I think in the thread on the general forum it said that it is helpful to apply often and even write them. I can also provide a reflink if anyone wants one. Haven't done it before but I'm sure I can figure it out, lol.

Thanks for the offer! I'll let you know if I don't hear anything back from them!

Stoked on BS so far. Got the 3 months for 40 and wish I just did the year. Also swung by Best Buy today and picked up a Chromecast. The streams were iffy going to the Chromecast at first until I figured out to just mirror the chrome tab to my tv. HD PHX broadcasts from the comfort of my couch. Totally worth the $80. And I can post on the forums from my android (don't have a laptop... yet) no more lagging blurry streams. So stoked.

I ran my BS from PS3 last night and it was overall quite good. Occasionally I found the need to switch servers midway through games after seeing intermittent buffering on the West server.

Wtf is ballstream? I just got NBA league pass, lol. If the stream is high quality, a legit site, and cheaper than League Pass I'm down to get it next year.

Ballstreams is at least two of those things, is all I'll say, with one of them being cheaper than League Pass.

LP has had some issues in the past but it was improved last year and the Lakers game looked great for 95% of the time. Seems to be the best yet quality-wise.
