Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
To pay Klay the max and not get destroyed by the luxury tax the Warriors pretty much have to move David Lee's contract. The only teams in the league that have the contracts to give the Dubs the salary relief they need and might be willing to take on Lee are the Kings (Thompson or Landry, and D. Williams) and the Celtics (Bass and Thornton).
Boston is easily the best trade partner for the Warriors out of those two because both Bass and Thornton are expiring contracts. I imagine if the Warriors sent out Barnes along with Lee the Celtics might also consider swapping Green for one of them, although I doubt the Celtics are interested in him. That said I think the Kings are a more realistic trade parter. They'd probably jump at the chance to move one of Thompson or Landry.

The Warriors will be hard pressed to find a team willing to pay a premium for Barnes if their plan is to move Lee's contract by attaching it to Barnes. That's a huge surcharge for Harrison freaking Barnes.
I think the Warriors are buying time.

Agreed, you're probably right.

Now that we have Kemba locked up we just need to get that West deal done.

Use Vonleh and Maxciel to backup Al,Wright starts or backs up MKG. Dalllas gets Backup center/shotblocker and Taylor's contract or him, future second.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
After watching the game I want Knight. He could replace Roberts and Neal in our offense. He has the same size and Neal and is a much better PG than Roberts. What would Knight cost us from them? I am having a hard time constructing something that works for both teams.

Probably our 2015 1st. I'd probably do it. He'll be RFA after the season, but I can't see him getting as much as Isaiah Thomas. He'd be a great sixth man for us and I'd happily pay $5-6M a year to get him. I definitely like the idea of Lance starting and then anchoring the second unit, especially if somebody like Knight is there to share the offense.

We definitely better not.

don't trade a 1st, protected or otherwise, for anybody who you won't expect to start for the hornets. it's too useful an asset and the hornets are not in dire straits with the cap. cost control! it's much more likely for a player on a rookie contract to outperform their cap # than a vet for a team at the soft cap.

I get what JDR is getting at and Henson is definitely an interesting asset.
But, yeah, I wouldn't trade a pick for that package which most likely wouldn't move the needle.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
New idea involving Bismack
Bismack for Samuel Dalembert and a 2nd round pick (or Early)
Why for Charlotte: Get a good backup center that Cliff will actually play
Why for Knicks: Get a young center prospect that still has potential

We are not the Bucks. Trading away promising young talent for decidedly average veterans is how you become the Bucks.

Yep. Might as well stick with Maxiell then or anyone you can pick up as a free agent.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
How about Biyombo and Neal for Jordan Hill?
Hill has to agree to the trade, and he'd be a backup again. But at least he'd be playing for a winning team.
He's from the region too, so maybe he'd like to come back and play closer to home?

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
(I like Biz and want to keep him AND want Coach to play him but in the spirit of the Fake Trade Thread) how about:
Biyombo to POR for Robinson?
Maybe the two top-ten, third-string centers just need a change of scenery?
or
Biz + Taylor to MEM for Koufos & Calathes
Analytics center for a true backup center, and a suspended wing for a suspended PG?

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
How about 2 years of Henderson + Biz for 3 years of Jason Thompson.
We don't have minutes for Henderson and we're not using Biz either - so we'd be sending 2 useless players away for a useful one - Thompson can play C or PF next to Al when defense is needed.

Long overdue in my opinion. Need to get rid of him while he has some kind of value.
