This is good news for real cavs fans seeing as Andy has been the heart and soul of the Cavs.

Huge fan of Andy's.

And healthy I think he is certainly worth this extension. But he will be 33 when it kicks in and he's played like one season's worth of games the last three. Seems like a big risk---and shows the power of Lebron.

Tristan Thompson's days with the team would appear to be numbered. Either as a trade chip this year or having to move on in FA next year. I imagine he will get offers too rich for the Cavs to afford with 3 max deals and now the AV deal.

I can honestly see another team overpaying for Tristan as well. Dan Gilbert recently said that he doesn't mind going into the luxury tax for a championship.

Well if he is willing to spend, Cleveland can certainly amass a super team. Match Tristan. Bring back Lebron and Love obviously. Use the Haywood contract to add another big piece as well. And if the cap is really going to rise significantly in a couple years, if they structure things right, they might not get killed with repeater penalties.

If the last year is a team option or unguaranteed then it doesn't seem that bad. But if its fully guaranteed then its an overpay. Especially for a 33 yo Center who had injury problems in the last 4 years.

That's good value for a healthy Andy but for the oft-injured one it's a bit steep.

I definitely don't think you guys should pay Thompson/Andy a combined 20 million. I'd choose one if fiscal responsibility is a goal.

Given his recent seasons its overpay but hopefully he stays healthy or at least healthier than he has been recently then itll be a pretty good price.

Anyway andys worth it and its just one step closer to him being a career player here.

Very happy my favorite player will continue to be a Cav for the next few years. This deal will look more than decent once the salary cap rises.

It better not all be guaranteed without a TO. That's all I'm saying.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.
