I usually stay out of the Lakers forum out of respect but this is ridiculous.
It's just as ridiculous as saying that Nash only won his MVPs because the league was long due for a short, white long shot winner.
Uhh it was a joke.

The poster (of the Nash comments) has been warned. This type of race-baiting has no place on this board, guys. It's against the Terms of Service and will not be tolerated.
There's a way to keep it real...this wasn't it. Let's keep it on topic and on basketball.
Next time please use the report button when a comment like this seems flagrant.
As for Nash, I don't want him to retire, it doesn't do us any favors, so I'd rather have him around to mentor/a trading chip/an injury exemption. Those seem like the most positive ways forward. This season is about mining talent, and while the merits of Nash's tenure and that awful trade will always dog us, his use as an unofficial coach could prove invaluable to guys like Lin, Clarkson, and Price. As well as sitting with Randle on the bench and showing him how to approach the game, watch film, and prepare his body for next season.
Then there's also the chance that Nash gets a job here next season as an assistant coach, which could be great going forward. I'm sure some will roll their eyes at his lack of defense as a player, or dismiss this as he'd be another MDA, but the dude knows basketball.

Some posters have a reputation as instigators and so I don't know if Choker was one which was why I didn't report it. I don't think he deserves a ban but his comment was not necessary, in fact he managed to insult both Nash and Lin.
Nash was desperate for a shot at a championship and LA had Kobe, Pau, Metta and Howard to make that happen. Even in his late 30s he was still trying to be the same MVP passer and outside scorer because he's that competitive. I think he would want to stay and help develop the team as assistant coach. If anything, I'd prefer that he trains the mid/big guys for positioning, reading plays, everything because they need the most help when it comes to game plans.
* Since 1985, Jeremy Lin became one of 15 players to have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row, including 136 points in 5 starts beating out Iverson, Jordan and O'Neal
