Can't tell if its bad or good. They seem to both agree to work it out this summer, to see if Cole deserves a good amount of money if he excels as a starter

Interesting. I think Rich Paul had a lot to do with this.
Cole has the potential to get paid next year. I'm not so much sold on that, but we'll see.

Read Woj's latest article....be wary of dealing with players who've signed with Rich Paul

Unless Norris shows he can be a full time legit starting NBA pg there's no way the front office is gonna get **** over by Rich Paul again. That article was very interesting considering it was from woj.

We still control him next year, so it's fine IMO. If he steps up and shows he's our starter for the future, we'll match the offers he'll get.

I doubt he gets big overpaying offers from other teams, Almost every team has a PG at Cole's level or better.

Good decision by front office.

Exactly, Heat have one of the worst PG rotation in the league(if not THE worst), the nba is saturated with stud speedy PGs. Then you have Eman Mudiay who is projected to go #1 or #2 in the draft so that means the league will have yet another stud PG.

Rich Paul can't dick around Riley this time around.

I see this move as Cole being apart of a potential trade in the future.

I think Cole will be valuable for Mismi as long as he knows how to pick his spots very well (like he demonstrated last game) and try not play in one speed.

I don't think he SHOULD be traded. He seems like he likes it here and put in enough work to become a starter. However if a good deal comes along I expect the heat to make that move

Of course, Norris should be traded in order to improve the team. At a cost of 2 million dollars per year it makes sense to keep him in the roster. One penny over that amount and it becomes a bad decision. Let me make this clear: I like Cole as part of our team. On the other hand, all we might need is to just add one good player for us to make another trip to the finals. By the way, now that Tyler Johnson agreed to join Heat D-League team, it is worth to experiment with him as a point guard instead of a shooting guard.

I don't see how we can get any decent player for Norris Cole at his salary? The impactful rookies that are around his salary definitely are going to be traded and definitely not for him. I think his improved play is the most benefit we'll see for him.

When we mention trading Norris Cole it is mostly as part of a package. For example: Norris Cole, Chris Andersen, a draft pick and 2 million dollars in exchange for one good player from another team.

Oh I see. That makes more sense then. I think it'd be kind of messed up to trade Chris Andersen, but that is the business. Maybe Granger though?

Cole isnt getting traded. He will play himself into a nice contract. He understands now to look for his shot where he likes it and when he likes it and has more freedom to do so. Someone is going to want a pg with the lottery full of bigs FA guards will be premium.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

None of us even knows if Cole can be a legit starting PG.

By legit in mean being top 25 PG in the NBA.

Our own coaching staff don't know for sure either, that's the point of postponing the decision about him till the summer.

If Napier looks impressive, or if we can get Reggie Jackson for a good price (he wants out of Westbrooks shadow) Norris will probably be gone, Unless he really makes a big jump this year. We'll see.

With Rio settling ina backup SG. trading Cole might be unnecessary. Better to just see how things develop.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/how-lebron ... 54734.html
...childhood friend-turned agent, Rich Paul, oversees Klutch Sports, a Cleveland-based agency that exists out of the generosity of its financial benefactor, LeBron James. These are James’ resources and might behind the company, but he lets his buddies run it. Klutch represents Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson, who has a decided advantage as a James underling to negotiate a better-than-market value deal with the Cavaliers.

Most agents and business associates of key Cavaliers players are on full alert to keep clients out of the tentacles of Klutch. The Klutch sales pitch has been predictable: Come with us, get paid with the Cavaliers.

..Only one thing had changed from when James had left the Cavaliers four years ago: This time, he had two championships. Once you’ve won, everything is easily explained away. His free-agent performance this summer wasn’t so much different than 2010, only seen through a new prism. James empowered Paul to drag several teams to Klutch’s offices in Cleveland for free-agent presentations without the free-agent star present. Once those meetings were over, leaked to the public, the teams sheepishly realized: We were had.

“Just used as props to get attention and publicize their business,” one league executive told Yahoo Sports. “Maybe that’s smart to some people, but you have to deal with the same people again and again in this league. Those things can come back on you eventually.”
Be wary...

Remember the whole fiasco with PHX and Eric Bledsoe? Same group...
