Nothing is wrong with Vonleh but the fact that he's a rookie. He's the inactive.

Yeah, Clifford never plays rookies. That's why he benched Zeller early last year for Adrien...

I get not playing Vonleh because of how raw/young he is, but Hairston should be getting minutes considering how much we desperately need shooting or anything on offense.

Thankfully, even Clifford realizes this. We're going to have to make a trade for it to happen. Personally, I'm hoping it's Neal that gets traded.

Henderson is still every limited. He hit his shots last night but he doesn't open up anything for his teammates. I'd much prefer to deal him but then Hairston and Neal overlap. Henderson is more fundamentally sound and better at playing organized. So it seems as much as Cliff loves Neal, dealing him might be easier and create more balance.

What I wanted to see last night was Hairston's aggressive attitude. He shoots without hesitation. Last night there was too much hesitation, especially by Lance and Kemba, and look at the results (1-17 between them). You don't want those 2 thinking too much out there.

Definitely agreed on that last part. On Neal though I don't think he really opens up that much for his teammates. Similar to Sessions he looks for his own shot much more than he looks to pass. I think Roberts is the opposite and that is more what we need in the 2nd unit. If we trade Neal it will open up time for both Roberts and Hairston. I'm definitely in favor of that, they're probably our two best shooters and Roberts will help get the rest of the bench more involved than Neal does.

With Henderson I think his player option for next season will make it a good deal harder to move him. Neal on the other hand is an expiring contract. Henderson's versatility to play both wing positions is valuable coming off the bench, so I'd prefer we just hold onto him at this point.

Neal really keeps a defense on edge. They swarm to him. I think what Clifford sees and likes is Neal's potential to create opportunities for those open players. He has the dribbling and passing ability to rise up and seize that kind of role in this offense. We haven't seen it yet and we may never - but Clifford has more perspective than we do and maybe Cliff thinks its possible to reach him and to coach him into that big role. It's tough to give up that potential and concede those minutes to Hairston, who is basically strictly a shooter who has a lot to learn in all other facets of the game, so despite coachability, his lack of experience puts him really far behind. Again I'd like to see him get minutes but there is an overlap with Neal and Henderson is tough to move and Neal has this connection to Cliff since he's talented and works hard (he locked himself in the gym all summer and came early). No matter which way you slice it, talent + hard work is going to get Cliff's attention and translate into minutes. It's a conundrum. The fact Henderson is more versatile and can back up the SF and is harder to move makes me think he stays and Hairston gets his chance ultimately, but this won't transpire until the trade deadline. If Cliff coaches up Neal, we won't see it at all.

i'd keep neal over henderson for this team, especially if we have plans to keep JT on the roster. lance, hairston and JT can all play both wing spots. i have no use for henderson unless he becomes a 3pt shooter.

Late, but some of you are overreacting.....second game of the season AND we were NOT playing the Bobcats (think about that lol). You all are on this board acting like Alabama and Auburn fans. Anyways, Hairston needs playing time as does Biyombo. MKG has been impressive thus far.

Too much overreaction indeed. We loss to a WCF contender by 2 points and made them shoot as bad as us and we're acting like the sky is falling on us. The only thing that need tweaking is Biz replacing Maxiell in the rotation and we'll A-OK.
