RG3 looked good at times, bad at other times, but overall he was MORE then good enough to win the game. When your D lets the Vikings score 3 TDs in the 2nd half and score 4 TDs in a span of 5 drives, you deserve to lose. How Jim Haslett, aka Jim Has Let Them Score, still has a job amazes me. I wish I could suck that much at my job and still get paid millions....
Other NFL thoughts....
WTF has happened to the Chargers? I had Rivers as an MVP candidate but now they've completely collapsed. I guess they're only as good as their QB and if Rivers isn't elite, they're done.
On the flip side, who is this Ben Roethlisberger? 12 TDs in two games, ridiculous. I guess Todd Haley isn't as much a dope as people thought. Was surprising to see the Ravens get lit up so bad, Ravens-Steelers is usually a low scoring bloodbath.
Not a shocker Manning struggles late in the year in New England. Still think the Broncos will win the AFC though, but Brady has his number in head to head matchups.
Bad year to be an NFC East QB. First RG3 gets hurt, then Romo, now Foles. I actually don't think the Eagles will lose that much with Sanchez though, people forget Sanchez wasn't that bad his first few years with the Jets, and in Philly he'll have a MUCH better supporting cast and a coach that actually knows NFL offense.
Well at least the Skins played better against the Chargers. Chargers are pretty much done this year unless they somehow are just on fire after their bye, but it doesn't look good now with their last five games being at KC, BALT, SF and home against NE and Denver. They definitely have to win at least three of those and take care of Oakland and STL at home.
But even if they did that and finished at 10-6 they still probably lose tiebreakers to KC and Miami, and both of those teams clearly looked better than SD, so I don't see how they do it unless one of those teams falls apart. But then you also have Buffalo and all the north teams in the mix. But I guess you never know based off of one game.
The biggest problem with yesterday other than the east coast road trip was probably Rivers lack of pass protection, which has always destroyed his game. They lost their pro bowl center for the season and they made due against some weaker teams, but Miami's pass rush just killed them. I don't blame the D quite as much because if the offense can't stay on the field, the D is going to wear out. They do have some costly penalties though.
