Your favorite matches

Post#1 » by AlexDelta » Sun Nov 2, 2014 11:05 pm

I was just wondering, what are your favorite matches of all time? No matter the reason, most entertaining, crazy finish, etc.

Trying not to pick a Bayern match, I'll say this one. The scoreline says it all.

should've won this tie too against the GOAT team but Massimo(lol) Bucassa had his money on a barca CL win and sent off van persie.

best part is arshaving celebrating by showing a picture of him celebrating on a T shirt. Magnificent

Inter-Schalke 2:5 in CL quarter final 10/11. The game had everything. Goal from ~50 meters, own goal & a huge upset.

Germany - Turkey in 2008 was incredible. Turkey almost beat Germany despite missing the whole starting line up because of suspensions.

Turkey - Czech Republic same tournament. What a comeback.

As far as Turkey in Euro 2008 goes, Switzerland-Turkey in heavy rain was great fun. Think there was even a Turkish player on the Swiss team who could have scored at least a hat trick.

Russia in 2008 was also great.

We were 13 players in that game including the bench. Almost everybody played in different positions.

Still played great tho.

I remember that well, the CL was amazing that year. Featured one of my all time favourite Spurs matches against Inter at the Lane. Not to mention Joe Jordan and Gattuso butting heads in the round of 16 when we beat AC Milan at the San Siro.

that game was a rollercoaster of emotions. i remember the tv went black for a while because of the local thunderstorm in switzerland and the reporter made some kind of radio commentary for a few minutes. just in time, when the picture and sound were back lahm scores the 3-2 winning goal! crazy game.
too many urkels on your team, that's why your wins low

England - Portugal in 2004 was unbelievable too.

2 "Golden Generations"(even though they didnt win anything.) Figo, C. Ronaldo, Rui Costa, Deco, Carvalho, Ferreira vs Beckham, Rooney, Owen, Gerrard, Lampard etc. going against each other.

Ricardo scoring the decisive penalty and saving Vassel's penalty without gloves.

Darius Vassel

:(

Also like to include (personally) Italy against Germany in 2006, that whole extra time was just a joy to watch, absolute scenes.

For Chelsea fans there's the CL in 2012 (obviously, that whole run), but I also love the game when we beat Arsenal in the knockout stages of the CL a while back when Wayne Bridge scored the winner ( )

2008 Turkey was sensational. They were just amazing. A young Arda Turan and Turkey that start tournament with Mevlut freaking Erding as a starting striker. Some of the weirdest turkish player I've seen in my life : Mehmet Aurélio and Colin Kazim Kazim Richards, that some ish you can't made up

They were losing against Czech Republic 2-0 at 15 minutes from the end. They equalize 2-2, knowing that if the score was this, it would have been a penalty shoutout to decide who can go out the group stage then Nihat send a thunder strike in stoppage times.

As for some of my favorite matches :

1st year (and IMVHO best) Chelsea's Mourinho going against prime Ronaldinho, Eto'o & Deco with some Xavi and Puyol. That was some of the best pieces of football I've ever witnessed in my life.

What more can I say ? Maybe you don't know, but at the time of this game in France there was a huge debate about how Zidane who was playing his 106th game for France, never assisted Thierry Henry who scored 35 goals for France at that time (most of them with ZZ on the pitch). I think the goal was the cherry on the cake :D
