Difference between us then and the Cavs now, is that we had two MVP-type players in that team.
LeBron is LeBron. Difference between LeBron then and LeBron now is that he is now older and not as physically or athletically good as he was in 2010. However, LeBron now is far more mature and better.
Wade was a finals MVP and made the first All-NBA team twice, ontop of being the scoring champion in 08-09. Irving's career is still very young and he still has a few years before he hits his prime. By then, LeBron will have well and truly begun his decline.
Bosh and Love had similar stats at the end of their tenures with their original teams.
The Cavs WILL get better as the season progresses. But to think that they would be good as the Heat were in 10-11 may be pushing it a bit. People forget that our team had two MVP-standard players who were in the middle of their prime

Our team also didn't have a decent Center or bench. Eddie house? Dampier?! corpse of Bibby? once Miller and UD went down so did our depth.
Cavs have Anderson.V..T.Thompson..S.Marion...guys that would have put us way over the top if we had them.

Re: Around the NBA 10.0
Might be a good idea to give the Cavs a month or two before we start talking about the differences between them and the '10-'11 Heat, and how those differences will affect their ability to win multiple championships over the next few years.
It's early folks. The only thing we know so far is that OKC is in serious trouble this season.

No point in talking about the Cavs. We know FIRST hand what it takes to be great. (9-8 first year).
But it is fun watching them and Lebron struggle til then lol.

Beasley 29 and 11boards first game with Shanghai. Didn't shoot well I think he was 8-24 got to the line 14 times made 12.
I don't see him staying there long.

Re: Around the NBA 10.0
You cant just put three random all stars in one team and expect success. That Cavs team will win as many championships as Kobe Nash and Dwight won in their time together. The pieces dont fit and Blatt will have to realize what Spoelstra realized in 2011 - Lebron has to be the primary ball handler 90% of the time to make it work. If that means Love and Kyrie has to camp behind the three point line while making max money, then so be it. kyrie should be on the court when Lebron is resting on the bench at all times.
Being an all star on the same team with Lebron James means sacrificing your talent and becoming a roleplayer for him. Some people on this site quickly thinks oh just put three all stars together and they will win all the championships. Wrong. You replace leonard with Lebron in the Spurs and now all of a sudden youre taking away from Parker Ginobili Duncan and many other talent skill sets. They become solely jump shooters.
It wasnt until Wade said its Lebrons team that we started to see better chemistry on our half court offense.
