Game 4: Cavs at Utah Jazz 9:00 EST, FSO NBALP RS

Post#1 » by King Stannis » Thu Nov 6, 2014 12:44 am

LeBron James and the Cavs attempt to bounce back from his worst scoring performance in six years, as the visiting Cavaliers try for a fourth straight win over the Jazz on Wednesday night.

Carried by Fox Sports Ohio, Root Sports and NBA League Pass

Keys to the Game:

1. Effort
2. Playing as a team
3. LeBron James

Notes:

James claims to have checked out of the game to teach Irving and Waiters a lesson about playing hero ball. Whether they noticed or not remains to be seen. Waiters earlier in the day continued to deny that he sees the catch and shoot as a valuable part of his game and his status as a starter is in serious question. Changing the culture to a winning win is still a work in progress.

Kevin Love continues to play well and exhibit professionalism. Overall, the Cavs are playing good quarters and bad quarters but have yet to put it together for a full game.

Ummm yea. Let's put yesterday's game behind us. Time for a double digit blowout.

I'd like to see more of LBJ on the block posting up smaller players (like just now). I don't know if he's hurt or has lost half a step but it may be time for less perimeter play from him.

How about some, any, effort on D? Surrendering that many points to a crap team? Have they no damn pride?

This team has two assists at the half. Two. And it was out-rebounded.

I guess they are tired from standing around and doing nothing from the Blazers game.

Careful what you wish for. The Jazz may just give you that.

16 assists at the half for Utah compared to the Cavs 2.. The Jazz are also shooting 58% from the field compared to the Cavs 40%.. Pretty lucky to be down just 11 points...

I feel like we should be trying to run the offense through Love more. Also our defensive rotations are atrocious. I get the feeling that LBJ is suppose to be going out on those open threes and just can't be bothered.

People have been wondering about Love not shooting well. Shooters need to get a rhythm. He simply is not touching the ball enough; and half of the looks he gets is to bail someone out.

Love is doing his part by passing the ball and being unselfish. The others should follow his example.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I was being sincere. Love has been the best Cav of the season so far.

Nor was I. I was agreeing. Sorry if you took it for something negative.

Still playing as individuals out there (except Love and Lebron).

Observations:

1. Kyrie, I don't care if you are lighting it up: hero ball doesn't win games. I should have thought 150 losses might have taught you that by now.
2. What a group of entitled malcontents they are if they think they can hustle 1/4 of the game and expect to win. Every team is bringing their A game and half the team is sleepwalking most of the time.
3. GET. THE. BALL. TO. LOVE!

We are lucky the game was even close. As a team, we had six assists for the game. We stopped running organized plays. We only play defense the last five minutes a game. We were lethargic. LBJ picked up some bad habits down in Miami like thinking that he can just turn it on the last five minutes of any game and win. Blatt's rotations are very questionable. I don't understand having LBJ and Love off the court at the same time.

One of these days, and I hope soon, Kyrie Irving will realize that selfish players never win games.
One day soon, and I hope before the next game, Coach Bratt will realize that needs more 3pt plays ready.
One day soon, and I hope before the Christmas game, the Cavs will win a game.
One day soon, and I hope before tomorrow, Dion Waiters will be on the bench indefinitely.

That is all.

This team has looked **** so far. Not **** for how loaded we are, but **** period.

However, I'm still in don't panic mode. I still think it'll work out before long. Especially once we get a homestand. 4 of our first 5 are road games.

Because the only guys who have played more than a handful of games together as a team are used to losing when they play together.

Its going to take some time to figure it out. We've seen stretches of great ball movement on offense. We've seen stretches of great lock down defense. They just need to figure out how to extend these stretches. It's going to take a while. The team you see now is nowhere near how they will look in Feb. Part of the fun of watching a team gel.

Waiters barely played tonight, took only 4 shots, and had one of the team's 6 assists. Yet the team lost to Utah.

I dont care lebrons injured he could fake some intrest in the game.

Kyrie is just a **** chucker

The whole team is terrible on defense. Love is actually a lot worse imaginable and kyrie just gets worse and worse. No effort coming from anyone on this team.

Oh there was effort when they tried to comeback in the last 3/8 of the game but it wasn't consistent throughout
