Hopefully we can get a little win streak going. MKG is probable.

Bad feeling about this game. We have a better shot of beating team USA than we do the Hawks, They own us.

Looking at the Hawks roster, literally everyone besides Horford can shoot 3's. They have #spacing down to a science....and if Pero Antic hits a game winning Dirk Nowitzki one legged 3....I might cry.

Lance hasn't hit one single three pointer so far this season. Thats a huge, huge issue. Can't have two players on the wing that cannot hit threes to save their lives.

I'm heading up to the game from Macon, GA tomorrow. This will be my first game at a NBA arena not named Phillips. Really looking forward to it and excited to get the division schedule under way.

Hoping for a great game from both sides with a Hawks win of course.

GL tomorrow fellas.

Can't wait to see more MKG. I hope Hairston still gets minutes though. This should be an interesting match-up.

on some nights when their threes are falling and the ball is fizzing around the perimeter, they'll look like the mini-Spurs. let's just hope that it doesn't happen against us.

I seemingly have work AGAIN on a game day. will rather watch it tomorrow than coaxing Linux into accepting at least one of the pies out there and watching it without sound.

Game Preview: Charlotte Hornets @ Atlanta Hawks

1. The Hornets seemed to get a little offensive consistency going from the first unit to the second. Other than pound the ball to Big Al Jefferson, what do they need to do to have another successful offensive outing?

Spencer Percy (@QCHspencer): Get solid guard play. Kemba didn’t force shots on Wednesday night and that had a lot to do with the improvement in the Hornets offensive efficiency. In essence, ball-movement will make this offense better, but the guards must start producing more.

Michael Kaskey-Blomain (@therealmikekb): Getting consistent production from the perimeter players would be a solid start. Lance has been up and down, as has MKG even though his play has improved. If thr Hornets can get some steady production from the perimeter it would help to balance their offense and take the load off of Big Al who will be facing a formidable frontcourt in Atlanta.

2. The Hawks are healthy again and played the defending champion Spurs tough the other night. Who on this roster can we not afford to take for granted and why?

Spencer: The Hawks are one of the deepest rosters in the NBA, and Elton Brand may be the only guy on the team that can’t shoot the three-ball. Atlanta wants to spread the floor and play what mimics a five-out offense – they can almost do it with their first unit, and definitely can with their second unit when Antic becomes the big.

With as much as this team spreads you defensively, the Hornets will have to have their head-on-a-swivel tonight.

MKB: The Hawks were a basket away from pulling out a win against the Spurs the other night, and will be looking to bounce back. The team goes as Jeff Teague goes on the offensive end, so it would be ideal for the Hornets to try to bottle him up and limit his impact on the offense.

3. We have two teams with core groups of players that have seen a lot of action together, and consequently of their matchup tonight. Which duel is most important to a Hornets victory?

Spencer: Atlanta three-point shooting. They will take a lot of them, and if they make less than 45% + Charlotte clears the defensive glass, I think the Hornets have a good chance to take this one.

MKB: The battle of the point guards will be one to watch. Walker vs Teague. Both excellent offensive point guards who lead through play. In the matchup between the two whoever gets the upper hand will help their own offense run and potentially help generate a win.

PREDICTION

The Hawks and Hornets always tangle close . The Hornets will have their spark plug back in MKG and seem to be newly motivated. With a day of rest and some size mismatches inside and at SG, I like the Hornets in this one, 101-99.

We need to win this one. Next four are:

@ Lakers
@ Blazers
@ Suns, and
@ Warriors

Edit: We actually play both the Blazers and Warriors twice this month. The 2nd Warriors game is at home the day after Thanksgiving. If it wasn't for the madness that is Black Friday I would definitely be going to that game. I'm still considering it, but man do I hate black Friday.....

We need to at least go 2-2.

Not to get ahead of anything, but the matchups in the GSW game will be really interesting. Will be interesting to see if MKG and Lance can slow down Thompson. Asking Kemba to guard Curry is going to be tough though given that Curry can just shoot over him.

This is a nasty stretch actually. We go on a west coast trip and then continue to play west coast teams on the return home while playing 6 games in 9 days...

yeah, it's brutal. that's why we need to continue to stem the bleeding by winning tonight. Then go on the road and crush the Lakers and hope to pull out a shocker against the Blazers. We do that and we'll be in good shape.

good luck charm:

I think this should be the only franchise against which we have two game-winners (talking about the Horncats, not the 89 - now history of ours)

things to look for:
Eddie Najera absolutely wanting to take that shot;
Eddie Najera jumping on the scorer's table for no reason at all.

It looks like Stephen Curry is gonna be spending thanksgiving this year in Charlotte with his dad, wont be the last time that happens, especially after 2018

And 20!

Curry's game is going to age like Nash's did. He'll be at his most lethal by the time 2017/18 rolls around and we're going to roll out the red carpet for him.
