What? Why aren't we going for guys like Toney Douglas or someone from the D-League instead?

I assume is had something to do with the deadline that we had to sign someone which is the end of today. I bet they didn't expect to not get mekel so when that happened they just hoped on the next available point guard

Well this sucks. I know we have troubles scoring right now, but it's not going to help to bring in another poor shooter who shoots a lot. I wish we'd at least target a pass first PG at some point and give it a shot. So now once everyone gets back we'll have Hill, Watson, Sloan, Price, and Stuckey to man the PG position and every single one of them is score first and not great at it.

I'm sure there are plenty of guys in the D-League who would jump at the chance to get called up. We see a few teams every year find a diamond in the rough that way, but we just won't even try it. Stupid.

I guess the thing is we know what he's gonna bring an it's nothing the dudes a poor shooter who can't pass. No doubt they signed him cause he knows the system but why not take a chance on someone else give them an opportunity not a guy who had had opportunities but blew them like price. Im starting to wonder what has been going through larrys head lately cause this last offseason he has done nothing but make them worse.

Eh, it's not like the system is that difficult to learn, we're not using the triangle. I'd hope any NBA level PG could pick it up pretty quickly. And the only guys Price has played with that are still on the team are Hill, West, and Hibbert. We've also obviously tweaked the system a bit since then too.

Honestly I'd probably prefer even Ben Hansbrough. Price sucked for us and sucked for the Wizards too. Or what about someone like Darius Morris? He has NBA experience and we could actually use his size. Outside of Price being a PG, he brings nothing we can use. He'll end up being another guy we can't use soon that just sits on the end of the bench since he can't play SG.

Honestly this is another win-now move that doesn't help us win. I'm not for dumping everyone and tanking, but it's clear we won't be doing anything this year and I think we're missing an opportunity to look at a young guy and do some development. We sorely need some even decently reliable young legs off the bench.

We just need a warm body now. In two weeks whoever we bring in is most likely back on the street.

Eh, don't really care. Just an extra body to throw on the bench, don't see him playing much, let alone bringing anything to the table.

Though I would have preferred Mekel.

We have entered the theater of the absurd.

If I had told you 4 months ago that Donald Sloan would have a 31/7/6 game this year, would you have believed me? He just went toe to toe with John Wall and basically pulled off a draw. In the 5th game of the season.

If I had told you that AJ Price would be playing serious minutes in the early going, would you have believed me? Was he even in the NBA 4 months ago? Was he signed to any team?

If I had told you that Chris Copeland would be our leading scorer, would you have ever believed me?

If I told you right now that Rodney Stuckey would have a 40 point game this season, would you believe me?

If I told you that Roy Hibbert would have an 8 point, 3 rebound, 14 block game, would you believe me?

If I told you that Paul George would win Finals MVP this year, would you believe me?

I wouldn't.

But at this point, isn't just about anything semi-believable?

Doesn't AJ make 16 players?

Yup. Since we have so more than 4 players that we believe to be out for 2 or more weeks, we received a temporary hardship waiver to sign 16. However, before we can activate ANY of Watson, West, Hill, or George, we'd have to waive someone to get back down to 15.

Eh, kind of. His experience is that he sucks in this system. That's a proven fact. :dontknow:

Price got the nod because we knew him, and we had a few hours to get a guy signed. That's about it. We wanted Mekel; the visa issues screwed us.

So this is going to be like a 10 to 20 day contract for Price?

Totally agree.

Where's Jordan Crawford? Is he still available?

China. Not available until March. And one of the most selfish players in the league last year. If you play him, you might as well not even try and get a look at your other guys like Shayne, Lavoy, Sloan, Cope, etc. Jordan will take all the shots.
