I definitely don't want to be a distraction, but I felt it best everyone heard from me in my own words.

I have a ton of miles on my back. Three buldging disks (a tear in one), stenosis of the nerve route and spondylolisthesis. I suffer from sciatica and after games I often can't sit in the car on the drive home, which has made for some interesting rides. Most nights I'm bothered by severe cramping in both calves while I sleep, a result of the same damn nerve routes, and the list goes on somewhat comically. That's what you deserve for playing over 1,300 NBA games. By no means do I tell you this for sympathy - especially since I see these ailments as badges of honor - but maybe I can bring some clarity.

I've always been one of the hardest workers in the game and I say that at the risk of what it assumes. The past 2 years I've worked like a dog to not only overcome these setbacks but to find the form that could lift up and inspire the fans in LA as my last chapter. Obviously it's been a disaster on both fronts but I've never worked harder, sacrificed more or faced such a difficult challenge mentally and emotionally.

I understand why some fans are disappointed. I haven't been able to play a lot of games or at the level we all wanted. Unfortunately that's a part of pro sports that happens every year on every team. I wish desperately it was different. I want to play more than anything in the world. I've lost an incredible amount of sleep over this disappointment.

Competitiveness, professionalism, naiveté and hope that at some point I'd turn a corner has kept me fighting to get back. As our legendary trainer Gary Vitti, who is a close friend, told me, 'You're the last to know' - and my back has shown me the forecast over the past 18-20 months. To ignore it any longer is irresponsible. But that doesn't mean that life stops.

This may be hard for people to understand unless you've played NBA basketball, but there is an incredible difference between this game and swinging a golf club, hiking, even hitting a tennis ball or playing basketball at the park. Fortunately those other activities aren't debilitating, but playing an NBA game usually puts me out a couple of weeks. Once you're asked to accelerate and decelerate with Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving it is a completely different demand.

I'm doing what I've always done which is share a bit of my off-court life in the same way everyone else does. Going forward I hope we all can refocus our energies on getting behind these Lakers. This team will be back and Staples will be rocking.

Its sports fans who comment on Instagram, youtube and Facebook, what do you expect off them? They're certainly not paragons of intelligence. If Nash was atleast in a dapper suit on the sideline charting plays, talking to Lin on timeouts etc I don't think many would complain, its just getting embarrassing for all parties involved, the team has lost 5 in a row so they pick on the easy target to vent a bit.

One he didn't make it thru his last training camp a year ago, didn't even practice, yet wanted to start and not play back to backs when he felt like it. In fact he came and went, got the magic 10 game mark without finishing some first quarters, wasn't asked to travel with the team or practice, and to top it off came back just to get his assist record and sit back out.

Then this year he went out and he hasn't come to a game, hasn't traveled with a team, is out vacationing where he videos himself hiking up a mountain, playign cover, doing golf swings. The guy can't even come to a fn facility and serve as a coach or adviser in a capacity Kareem did with Bynum.

He's made 30mil for 65 games and his tenure has been saying he wanted Dantoni over Phil compared to the other guys by his admission, getting an assist record, and getting Kobe hurt doing his job for him. There has been 0 positive contribution he's made as a player or to the community, hell the most notable thing he's been charged with doing away from the court is petitioning a court to keep his kids and ex wife from California as residents. Oh and it doesn't help that Nash blurted out last year when it didn't look like he'd be able to play this year that he would comeback solely for the money

I have no idea why we need to be supportive of Nash when he's cashing checks while not helping the team in any manner. He's had a great career, sure fire first ballot hall of famer, but he's also screwed over the Lakers on his way out.

Would I do the same if I was in his position? Sure would, hard to pass up multiple millions when you don't have to do anything in return, but that doesn't mean I can't call him out on it. I would expect people to call me out on it as well, since it's a selfish thing to do.

Luke was born with a degenerative condition like his dad but whenever he got hurt he still tried to A comeback, B work for his money in. Some position like when he was announcing or coaching, or C support the team by cheering them on over saying **** this let me go on a vacation and not even go to a practice. Nash was not, is not, and will never be a laker.


It's not even that he was the enemy ... Karl Malone was the enemy and an easy son of a bitch to hate but you know damn well when he suited up as a laker he killed himself here to help the team and contribute. Can't say that for nash at all. Nash hurt his own credibility last year when he said he didn't care of he couldn't play he was just going to cash in thag last year salary by coming back, no one made him say that unless if you thought Bynum took over his body and mind

Luke didn't make the kind of money Nash did so he probably needs to transition into a coaching role to keep making a living. Did you even read what Nash goes through and what he did to try to get ready for the season?
