The last time this happened was 11/2013 - when it turns out that he played the entire month of 11/2013 with an UNdiagnosed fractured shooting hand. Between 12/2013 & 4/2014, after his hand had healed, his advanced stats were freaking AWESOME!

Two possibilities: He has an undisclosed injury again OR his 37 year legs pooped out playing 4 games in 5 nights. Hope it is the former.

At least, the Wiz held them off & got their 5th W in 7 games.

Yeah, also hoping it isn't Father Time... but I think it is that on the defensive end.

A win is a win.

On a positive note, two years ago we fold like a house of cards.

I think Witt has to play Poster more. Truth be told P.P. is getting old. Maybe pp. is going to be a situational player.

Thank God we play in the East. Also, thank God we've got a home stand coming up.

Gutted out another ugly win against an awful team. We're clearly not a great team yet. But at least we're winning these games.

Is there a stat for missing open shots? I think this team is setting a record...

We don't need to be a perfect team or anything close to it with us integrating and missing the pieces we have it's AOK. Wasn't it a year or two San Antonio was losing to every respectable matchup.

No truthiness in Pierce's shot right now.

Without BB, we need him to score. He's getting great looks, but there is a lid on the basket

I get your frustration as the Wizards have not played particularly well the last three games and Pierce is certainly struggling. However, don't you think its a tad bit early to start calling people idiots? Sometimes even HOF players go through shooting slumps. Also, the Wizards still don't have their full complement of players. I think its way too early to claim that this team is either better or worse than last year. I will tell you this... at this point their record is better than last year...that is the only thing that is certain.

Also, I don't recall many people claiming that this team was better without Ariza. I think most people said that the Wizards defense would likely be worse without Ariza but the offense might be better if Pierce still had something left in the tank. I also recall people saying that not signing Ariza might be the best long term move as Otto could eventually replace is production. Again, I think its way too early to proclaim anything about this team, whether it was right or wrong to let Ariza leave, etc..

Ariza is playing like someone being paid twice what his salary is. The qualifier "at his price" makes the statement a delusional one.

I don't think this team will truly gel until Beal gets back. Pierce finding his game will help too. But we're missing our two best shooters and our second best player. The offense is bound to struggle.

It's frustrating how things have come together to prevent us from getting a fast start. But not unexpected. And at least we're padding our record against bad teams. If we can keep doing that for now until we can get rolling, then that'd be great.

Yep, that was last season. Their first win against a top 2 team of either conference (Indiana and Miami in the East, OKC and Portland in the West in the first few months of the season) came in February 19 against Portland.

Rasual Butler pitched in to help get that win.

Hump was a rebounding mad man when he came in. 8 rebound in 9 minutes.

If you look over the categories, it should have been a blow out.

But we have to get up some 3 balls and make them. 2-11

Not having Beal and Webster while Paul has been shooting terrible the last 3 games is killer.

Gortat is actually producing well this season given his salary. Complaining about Gortat is pointless. Our wing play is the biggest issue right now. We've gone through a 2 game stretch where basically everyone outside of Wall, has been useless from the perimeter.

I think Beal coming back will have a big cascading effect which should alleviate lots of things, we just have to survive until then. And guess what? We're 5-2 and surviving. They aren't really pretty or exciting wins, but I'll take them. The team has to improve and I think will. Miller looks somewhat useful again, Hump is playing well and Porter will get better as the season goes on.

I don't like GR JR getting in the dog house as quickly as he has. Randy needs to be less stubborn and still needs to a better game manager. He STILL allows massive point hemorrhages from this team. No point in conserving timeouts by the time it is too late Randy, dumbass.

Two other players besides Pierce in allowing Ariza to walk are Otto Porter and Martell Webster. Two seasons ago Martell was very effective with Wall and Beal. If he's healthy by playoffs Webster can be an offensive spark. Otto Porter is going to improve with playing time.

Ariza will be missed but hopefully the Wizards keep grinding out wins. By the end of the season there will be a better picture.

Right now, because of a favorable schedule, Washington is 3-2 on the road and 2-0 at home. I am happy with that.

despite what I said about PP looking old the last 2 games, lets not overreact. He was awesome in 3 of our firsrt 4 games and looked like he had alot in the tank while doing iso things that TA could never do. Dont be quick to judge so negatively. He could easily bounce back against Det with 17, 5, & 5 and no one would be shocked. He's older so maybe sometimes these 4 games in 5 nights will make him feel it more then the younger guys but we go home tonight and only have 4 games in the next 2 weeks, all at home, and one against Lebron. I expect him to look alot better in that stretch and then we get Beal back right after who I think will make PP look alot better.

We have to step up though. Say what you want about Wall, he's given PP & Temple about 50 open shots the last 2 gmes and theyve basically missed all of them
