Chocolate City Jordanaire wrote:Two other players besides Pierce in allowing Ariza to walk are Otto Porter and Martell Webster. Two seasons ago Martell was very effective with Wall and Beal. If he's healthy by playoffs Webster can be an offensive spark. Otto Porter is going to improve with playing time.
Ariza will be missed but hopefully the Wizards keep grinding out wins. By the end of the season there will be a better picture.
Right now, because of a favorable schedule, Washington is 3-2 on the road and 2-0 at home. I am happy with that.

Maybe play Otto more minutes. He did well on Carmelo the other night.

By the way, I don't think that you have anything to worry about. You're going to be good this season. No one can tell how good you're going to be but you're going to be in the mix.
So, don't get mad at your team because we made a run and clawed our way back in the game. This particular Pacer team has done that in every single game this season. Yes, we may be 1-6 but we have managed to be within single digits in every single 4th quarter so far. It's the nature of undermanned teams to fight until the end since they have nothing to lose.

yes I saw that and I also think despite us being 2-0 on you guys, I think your team still has a mental edge over us from last year which always has a lil something in your guys heads that you think you can beat us and always has a lil something in our heads that we may lose to you no matter if you only have 5 guys dressed

one thing that is upsetting though is that I think we have probably been the worst team in the league at layups this year. I feel like its 50/50 with all our guys when it comes to a layup right now

Re: Official Thread - Wizards at Pacers (11/8/14)
I wasn't able to catch this game since I was at work till 10pm. So if somebody could fill me that'd be great.
However judging from the boxscore, which I know isn't precise of how the game went, but it looked like the ball was shared decently and all players contributed. Good to see from the boxscore Humphries had a decent game? He was worrying me earlier, and was almost scared he'd be another Maynor signing but rebounds it was he's here for and being physical and I guess he did that(?).
I think we are million times ahead of where we were last year at this time. The role players this year are infinitely better. Wall is attempting and actually is stepping up. It should only get better when Beal returns. The injury bug hasn't bit us awfully yet (knock on wood!). However if it does this season I'm not as worried since Blair, Rice Jr, Gooden were DNPs (Not sure if injury wise), but we have a good amount of depth this season compared to last season at this point. I see no reason why the Wizards shouldn't finish in the top 4. I feel Toronto, Miami, and Charlotte are the competition for 3-6. Yet a couple of those teams don't have the depth that the Wizards have. I know age is possibly a factor for us but Wittman isn't asking for 30+ mins from the old foagies.
Keep it up Wiz!

Nah, I don't think that this is the case. I could see what you're talking about if our starters were playing but most of the guys that played in these two games weren't a big part of last year's playoff rotation (only Ian Mahinmi and Luis Scola played significant minutes in that team).

dlts20 wrote:despite what I said about PP looking old the last 2 games, lets not overreact. He was awesome in 3 of our firsrt 4 games and looked like he had alot in the tank while doing iso things that TA could never do. Dont be quick to judge so negatively. He could easily bounce back against Det with 17, 5, & 5 and no one would be shocked. He's older so maybe sometimes these 4 games in 5 nights will make him feel it more then the younger guys but we go home tonight and only have 4 games in the next 2 weeks, all at home, and one against Lebron. I expect him to look alot better in that stretch and then we get Beal back right after who I think will make PP look alot better.
We have to step up though. Say what you want about Wall, he's given PP & Temple about 50 open shots the last 2 gmes and theyve basically missed all of them
Outstanding post!

i AGREE!!!!!
Ariza is playing like someone being paid twice what his salary is. The qualifier "at his price" makes the statement a delusional one.
Not tonight he ain't. 3-16fg and 0-6 3pfg. Not a great night for your under paid man.

Quick question, why is this game thread only 7 pages long thus far? Surely yesterday's slightly larger 17 page thread was not just because the Raps board users came over to visit?
Hmm, you may need our presence more often in this board, if the game discussions are only 7-10 pages long on average.

Didn't see the game, Solomon Hill looking like a top-10 pick. Wiz keep pace beating bad teams. Next.

So what? He's been playing better than any forward on this team by FAR. And his man didn't have a career game either.

Get off our board you half wit canadian troll.
It was an honest inquiry, no need to show your immaturity in a basic and juvenile response, dude. There are a lot of good people on this board and you are making them look bad as a result.
Anyways the only reason I asked was because DC iirc is a medium sized metro, and I assumed it would have a sizable fan base as a result. That and, inviting more people to discuss in game threads is always a good thing.

Considering the mileage on his body, it's to be expected. He should somehow be stashed for the postseason only. Shorter amount of games, with rest inbetween.

Your boy. Make sure you keep us all posted on his season in case we decide we gave a f about him anymore.
I'll take our 5-2 start without or second best player and be fairly happy that we saved a good 7 or 8 million in cap l. space.
