General Off-season Discussion
Anyone watching this massacre tonight? 42-0 in the first half. What happened to this team?

Re: OT: Bears
Yeah, brutal. I'm glad I don't feel that much emotional attachment towards the Bears, unlike the Bulls (like none at all).

There needs to be firings from top to bottom with this team. Coaches, GM, President, all of them. What a disgrace. Now I'm rooting for the Packers to keep putting up touchdowns with the false hope that it'll mean some changes in personnel.
Luckily, I am not that invested in the Bears emotionally, but I feel bad for my dad. He lives for the Bears.

Re: OT: Bears
Yeah I am suffering through it. Which is why I ended up back on here posting. Anything to distract me from the fact that the Bears are the worst I have seen them in many years. Before the season someone posted the Bears would be lucky to win 6 games. I said I would put $5k on the over on the wins. Right now his prediction is looking pretty good.
Sad thing is, as clueless as Trestman seems to be, I'm not sure what the Bears can do about it. Bring in yet ANOTHER offensive system?
Cutler looks asleep anymore. Trestman just refused to run the ball early even though that is blatantly the weakness of the Packer's defense. I just don't get it. And then there is the defense....

Nope....I'm smart....
When the score was 7-0 and Cutler threw that pick....I turned to Showtime to watch Homeland and never turned back. But I keep getting text updates from a friend....I told him to quit wasting him time as well.
And to make matters worse....my wife is a Packers fan.

All I do is shake my head. Trestman has zero business being an NFL head coach. But he is clearly not the only issue.

Re: OT: Bears
It's been an organization run by not very smart people for a very long time?
Evidently, Emery made Bruce Arians (of the 8-1 Cardinals) do a mock press conference when he was interviewed. This after Arians just won coach of the year. Coach. Of. The. Year. It's this kind of dumbassery that pervades Halas Hall right now.
Oh, and he gave Jay Cutler $54 mil for cigarettes.

Really really really enjoying.
OK hate me. But I am not from Chicago originally, I hate all Chicago teams, except the Bulls by accident.
Your Bears are garbage. Total garbage. They make me laugh. Hate me some more.

I want to turn away, but it's like a really really bad accident. You can't help but look. I have a strange desire now to find out how much worse this can get. This is a historic type of drubbing.

Al Michaels and Collinsworth are having heart attacks watching this team. Micheals even remarked, "Any way we can flex out of the second half?"

I'm rooting for about 80 points from GB... they deserve to be looked at like a bunch of clowns.

Re: OT: Bears
I've seriously questioned Trestman's competence ever since he completely botched the Minnesota Vikings game last year in overtime with a horrendous decision to kick a game winning field goal when it was 2nd down. His in-game decision making was disastrous last year, but at least there were modicums of green shoots with a competent offense in patches.
This year has been an unmitigated disaster. The offseason acquisitions have been complete busts and the complete lack of failure to upgrade the safety position is utterly shocking. Handing Cutler that contract was a massive gamble on a player with questionable leadership skills and a temperament that doesn't strike you as one of a franchise QB.
At this stage, firing Mel Tucker isn't remotely enough. Trestman must go, as must Emery. Neither have any history of work product that makes them worth keeping.
The Bears need to go all out for Jim Harbaugh. Give him player personnel decision making power like Carroll get when he left USC for Seattle. Go all out to draft Marcus Marriota (who I suspect Harbaugh would want) and part ways with Cutler.
By the way, anyone who thinks the Bears are like the Bulls and can expect their fans sit back and passively say "give it time" need to realize that the level of hysteria and fandom for the Bears in the city of Chicago is borderline incomprehensible. Bears fans will FLOOD talk radio to ratchet up the pressure on this regime and the media pressure will make it impossible to keep this coaching staff absent a massive turnaround. Cutler's time in Chicago is going to be shortened too, and Soldier Field will be absolutely toxic for the remainder of the season.

Yeah...I check the score on my phone every once in a while. I have Nelson on my fantasy team....he had a good night. I have Marshall as well....not so good. I am also a bit curious as to see how bad it can get. The Trib is going to be fun tomorrow.....

If people think I'm irrationally negative about the Bulls.....ya'll have not heard me go in on the Bears!
