I certainly prefer it to losing games like that. Funny to hear that from a Chargers fan too, being that the Chargers depend on Rivers playing REALLY well or else they will lose and possibly get blown out.

I think Gerald Green deserves consistent minutes. He has proven vital to the team's success and should be rewarded for his play. It is not fair to only play him if he is on fire. I believe that if he knew he was going to get at least 20-25 minutes every game no matter if he comes out blazing or not, he would play better. Btw, thank you to the posters who answered my question about Greg Monroe's bird rights.

The problem is whose minutes do you take them away from? Tucker has been extremely important the last few games, and then you have our three point guards, all of which you could say deserve more minutes. Though I can't decide how much I like IT yet.

I do wish, as a whole, our team had more ball movement on possessions. It seems like we have a guard take the shot himself, or only give the ball up if there is one guy that is wide open. IT last night would hand it off to Green last night once he got hot or otherwise take the shot himself it seemed like. It seems so rare to see the team whip it around with like a hockey assist or just two quick passes to get it to the open guy on the other side of the court. Some of the best teams are good at this type of ball movement (the Spurs especially come to mind) and our SSOL Suns were also pretty good at this, though it takes some high iq players.

I wish Kieff had the ball go through him a little more because he seems like he can make the immediate extra pass without hesitation and seems to have the highest bball iq along with Dragic.

No one does, but it sure feels good knowing that if nothing else is working you still have a chance with a guy like him coming off the bench to get back into the game or him blowing a game open. Great insurance to have in your back pocket. Same goes for Thomas!

Yea but Thomas is much more consistent and isn't a one trick pony. Thomas can playmake and score. He also doesn't rely on 3pt shooting for mostbof the scoring. He drives, and pulls up from mid range plenty as well.

Thomas is a lot more efficient.

For Green, it's mostly just the 3s.

I'm not saying I don't like him, I just want him to take smarter shots, be more consistent, and for us to not rely on him so much.

Rivers is also lot more consistent than Green. And when Rivers does bad, it's usually due to awful blocking (Chiefs, Broncos, Dolphins games) or because his recievers drop the ball too much (Cardinals game).

I think with Green, when he's "off" those bad 3pt shot attempts can kill you just like the days he's "on" he can carry you.

Too streaky.

Plus he has no other game. Rarely drivers, horrible dribbler and horrible playmaker/passer.

He used to have that "post up, then shoot fade away shooting contested jumper" game last season but haven't seen it much this year.

He's certajnky good to have and I want him here but I think we rely on him a little too much. Then again without any real post presence, I guess we have to rely on our shooters a lot and he's the best one we got in terms of spot up shooting.

I think the really bad shots Gerald occasionally takes stick out in people's minds and give a faulty picture of him overall. In reality, his eFG% was 54.7 last year, which was second on the team behind Dragic. This is a pretty straightforward measure showing that his shot selection is ultimately quite good.

It's more that he doesn't really score in other ways and given the green light to keep shooting when he's in a funk. Basically when he's in the game, it really is live and die by the Gerald.

I agree. Thomas does a lot of things to get points on the board, whether it's using his savvy to force defenders to foul him, or shooting his money midrange shot or making moves to draw attention. Green really just shoot quick threes, which he is very good at but when he's not on, he can be a detriment to the team because he's fairly limited offensively.

Guys you are saying "live by Green die by Green" but here is something from NBA.com Power Rankings:

He's the new guy and he's coming off the bench, but Isaiah Thomas has been a barometer for the Suns' success. They're 4-0 when he's scored 20 points or more, including Sunday's win over the Warriors when he put up 15 in the fourth quarter. But they're 0-3 when he's scored 15 or less, like when he shot 1-for-4 against his old team on Friday.

It's more that Live by the Gerald, die by the Gerald sounds more catchy and more representative of our style of Live and Die by the 3.
