1) Too late - Thibs won't change starting line-up once it's set, barring injury. Compound with fact we are winning.
2) I agree that, despite the starting unit being better right now with MDJ, we are better off splitting Rookies to cut down on bench mistakes. Mike has his shot down and is locked in on his 3pt shot. Ironically, I think that Doug receives more defensive attention when he is in compared to MDJ...I think Doug already has label as scorer, also MDJ with starters is our 4th option.
Well of course he gets more attention. The kid is like top 10 all time in NCAA scoring with damn near all points coming off shots from all over the floor. Thing is though if Doug starts actually gets some more speed and knocks down those open shots he would have a nice case to maybe start over Dunleavy.
I already talked about it offseason. To him get more speed, he needs lose the weight and put more ripped muscles instead soft muscles. If we really want him to be more Korver or Klay he needs get faster.
Experience and his BIQ will also help him recognise situation faster on offense, but at the end this is the only way. Also it will help some situations in defense, ISO, when he needs react quicker or guard faster or more athletic player. He is not great athlete and with more speed he can stay in front of them defense or offense and be fast enough to get split of second and space to shot the ball even when he is not completly open. Ofcourse his handling needs to improve.
At the end with all this he become more SG than he is real SF. And I dont have problem with that, if he plays with Butler who will always guard better wing.
Exactly.
I'm not saying he's fat, but he is a bit slow for the plays we run. He's great at attempting to get free from the D with his juking around the pick, but by the time he gets to his spot his man is already there and takes away his shot. He doesn't have an explosive first step so he can't counteract that.
He doesn't have to be super fast, but just a little faster like you said like Korver. Korver isn't mad fast, but when he takes the pick he's at his spot way before the defense gets there.
