Start Jerebko

Post#1 » by AnnArborpiston » Fri Nov 14, 2014 1:49 pm

Jonas has done nothing but good things with his limited time this season. Dare I say it, but he might be the only player on the team who can finish with his off hand. Just one example of how he is outworking everyone in the practice gym.

Jennings (33) Augustine (15)
KCP (36) Singler (12)
Jerebko (24) Butler (24)
Moose (36) Smith (32)
Drummond (28)

I wouldn't be opposed to experimenting with it, If the match up works of course.
I've wanted him to play the 3 for a while

I don't like that idea at all and don't think it is really possible. It's just the team dynamic and culture of the NBA, and how it works when money is involved. However, if you want to work the rotation so that Jerebko ends up playing PF next to Drummond or Monroe for extended periods of time (or both if the matchup works), I'm all for trying more of that. He has looked pretty good lately, he's been hitting his shots and hustling hard. I think the whole forum would be fine with just taking all of Singler's minutes away and giving them to Jerebko (even if it forces Butler to play down or Jennings to play up ), or even Dinwiddie . We are really suffering with the perimeter rotation with Meeks being hurt.

Ghost has a point about the politics of the NBA.

But, I'm all for JJ getting more minutes. He's earned them, from what I've seen.

he should definitely be taking minutes from smith, and hopefully once that cancer's gone, he'll take his spot in the rotation. JJ has been playing great team basketball and actually looks like a very capable stretch-4 on both ends. he can even guard some guys on the perimeter. i'm so glad to see him being put to good use this season.

Iam all for it,now maybe I can start to wear my jonas jersey to the games.

It really is telling how stan called it,he said jonas was working his ass off and was one of the best in practice.I really like how stan has brought jonas back just with a good word and actually giving him minutes that hes earned, instead of being all talk, were seeing the jonas of old.

For the life of me I'll never understand why this fanbase insists on taking bench players (Bynum, Singler, Jerebko) and forcing them into starting roles.

Some dudes are better off tge bench!

Some dudes are role players!

Let them play their role, excel at that and enjoy that! Not everyone should be a starter or play 35 mins

And1. Just because their excelling in their roles now doesn't mean they're going to be as successful if they start. Poop is more of a 15-20 min type of guy

A consistent 15-20 minutes is different than spot minutes off the bench and the occasional DNP-CD

I'm arguing whether he should start or not, in which case, N.O.

The thread is titled "Start Jerebko" not "Give Jerebko a consistent 15-20 minutes"

He's a guy that can bring energy, hustle and some shooting & yes he deserves more consistent playing time but he shouldn't start.

I'd rather start Jonas, Singler, Martin or Butler over Smith.

He is one of the many reasons why Smith would be addition by subtraction. Someone needs to take him from us. I'd strongly consider smith and jennings for Deron Williams. I didn't in the summer but I want smith gone so bad that Id do this trade now. Give them jennings while he's hot. Id like to buy into what jennings is producing but I'd include him to get rid of smith. Id take a heathy d will over jennings.

Lol. D will with SVG? That's intense. He was a great passer and learned the pick and roll from the best pick and roll coach, Sloan. Imagine the passes he can give to Drummond. That would be a nice addition by subtraction. It would basically be Prince, Ben Gordon, Brandon Knight, Middleton, and a 1st round pick for D Williams. Yup

I'm glad JJ is receiving respect... when you work this hard good thing happen.... he will never be the defender or passer that Smith is... however the decisions he makes are excellent... he's technically sound... the instincts and motor are helping the team get extra shots... I'm in favor of more minutes and pulling Josh when he goes commando.

The dude just played 19 mins and grabbed ONE f'n Rebound. On a night where Randolph took 13 boards off the Pistons' glass. He gets lost in defensive rotations and struggles to relocate his man in traffic. He has the slowest release in the Eastern conference. I'd like to see him kept at 12-16 max. Thank you.
