It will prob change for me during the year, but I bought into the preseason hype for Okafor. Hope he exceeds them. Heck hope each one of them are impressive.

Depends a lot on which FA is willing to come here!!

Our top targets in FA: Kawhi, Gasol, Dragic, Aldridge

Our top targets in Draft: Johnson, Okafor, Mudiay, Towns

=> We can have three of them; one in FA, one via trade and one in draft... If we draft a big, we can save around 5M of cap space because of their higher market value comparing to guards!!

Well knicks have to draft before trying to recruit free agency. So it's tricky on who to draft, because they don't know which free agent will come to them.

You always know who's really interested. They even can give Phil verbal agreement before FA hits officially... It's not that tricky, though you can't predict it for sure what happens. Any team can throw money there and try to get on your way! Melo can bring Rondo here; at least we know one FA who Melo can do his part! It's up to Phil and Fish to evaluate if Rondo or Dragic (or even Jackson) is the best option!! Unless, Jose fits great here and we ride with him (which I doubt, not because of his age or contract, but his defense)... If we can endure this painful, awful and unwatchable tanking season, the sun will shine for us after that! No doubt about that. Next July we'll have a totally different team, mindest and cohesion!!

As of right now, he's an athletic 7 footer with no discernible skills on offense (besides finishing lobs) or defense (but he has potential on that end for sure).

That's exactly who he is IMO & surprisingly I don't have a problem with that.

Our biggest needs are big men & scoring guards who can also defend. If we can't get either Towns, Mudiay or Okafor I'm perfectly fine with us getting Willie who reminds me of a athletic Tyson.

It would be great to get a two-way big man, I love two-way big guys, you're a fan of two-way big guys  it's just this draft doesn't have great talent at each position so whoever fits your position at need & plays great on defense but at least has potential for the other I think you should go after him.

But then again the season hasn't begun yet so we have 5 months to evaluate.

Gonna be a lot of flip flopping  This college season is going to be hella fun. Big fan of Tyus Jones, too.

I've been meaning to check this kid Tyus out for a minute, been hearing some great things. Gonna be in NC tomorrow so I'll be seeing his game live.

I dont know if trading Amare to Philly is a good idea!! We cant trade our tank comander to our #1 tanking rival :D I think we'll get the #1 pick after 30 years. Adam Silver will do us a favor!!

freak athlete put in the mold of a Tristan Thompson/Thomas Robinson.

Will be a good rebounder (both offensively and defensively). But really doesn't have much of a game outside of inside the paint (dunks/put backs).

The reason the two above are nothing more than role players is both haven't developed a consistant jump shot. If Alexander doesn't develop some kind of back to the basket/perimeter game he will be in the same mold as those guys. 20 minute a night energy guys off the bench.

Nothing wrong with that, just doesn't seem like a game changer.
4-Peat! 22-25 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart
Aaron Nesmith/Josh Hart/Jaime Jaquez

He has a rudimentary hook shot and some post moves. I think he can develop a post game. Has great feet.

Alexander is a good deal more refined than either Thompson or Robinson were at the same stage on BOTH ends of the court. He also has a jumper...it's just not that consistent yet.

I don't think we are playing to lose when it comes to players attitude and coaching decisions.
I stand by that the roster put together was built without the PS in mind.
You don't compete with mostly expiring contracts.
They got the computer result on what the roster was predicted to do but I'm sure that wasn't news to them. They have to have some sort of metric for expected wins.

I think at the Knicks current trajectory you're probably looking at a pick somewhere in the 6-13 range. If so, Montrezl Harrell would be great.

Say we get the 6th pick -- you'd pick Harrell over Kaminsky, Jones, Alexander, Porzingis, Johnson, Oubre, and Turner? I like Harrell (plays with a motor and fierceness which is fun to watch), but aren't you worried about a potentially low ceiling / low skill set?

Not really. Harrell isn't just an athletic big body. If you watch him the quickness for a guy that's a big as he is is just special. He's got very light feet and extremely fast reflexes (a lot of athletic bigs don't). Pitino has said that Harrell has added a 14-16 foot jumper as well as the ability to take his man off the dribble. Pitino also said that he could start playing Harrell some at SF because he has the quickness and instincts to play that position. We're talking about a 6'9" guy that's build like a linebacker and with gigantic wingspan playing SF. I think Harrell's upside is as high as a lot of those guys and his low (down) side is better than any of them. Harrell plays like the type of guy you want on your team if you want to take it at the other team. Throttle them. That's exactly what this team needs. Would I pick him at 6? Yeah I'd definitely consider it absolutely. Not a fan of Cliff Alexander. I would take Harrell over Alexander any day. I see Harrell as a potential Kenyon Martin or Anthony Mason (he's bigger and more agile than either) level/impact player. I'd take that with the 6th overall pick for certain.

As far as Okafor and Towns go? Towns I think has superstar potential. Okafor probably a step below. But Okafor probably can come in and contribute right away (his body is already developed and his skillset more refined) while it may take Towns a few years. That would be for me the biggest reason for taking Okafor (i.e. the Knicks Carmelo Anthony timeline). I would not be upset with either of course. Same with Mudiay.

My targets:
Towns
Okafor
Mudiay
S.Johnson
Alexander
M.Harrell

I'm very interested in:
Myles Turner
Caris Levert
Kelly Oubre Jr.
Malcolm Lee
Dakari Johnson
Willy Cauley-Stein
Andrew Harrison

But it's painfully early.
