That team would've been incredible. Harris would've been a serious POY candidate.

Slightly rough start, NKU is playing hard, good first game to get our feet wet.

Up 10, not really playing well, trying to be a little too fast out there.

Looking for a leap this year from Dekker, he's talented but I've always been more down on him than most. Not sure he's necessarily earned all the hype he gets.

If any Brandon Knight fans want to watch Koenig play PG. You'll see why most hate Knight.

I love Brian Anderson calling basketball. That guy is just a pro no matter what he calls.

Dekker looks like a different person.

I'll be interested to see if we keep trying to play this fast against better teams because I don't think it's in our best interest.

I ran in to him on Tuesday and it made my day when he told me I should do radio/TV with my voice. Super nice guy too, I'm hopeful he sticks in Wisconsin for a while he said he actually loves the weather including the cold here despite originally being from Texas.

Playing fast against bad teams will help them learn how to do it oppurtunistically against good teams.

Besides, more possessions always favors the more talented team

And Harris was miles better than either. Or would've been as a senior anyway.

Are people forgetting how awesome Wilk was?

Had Harris returned, that team would've been a championship favorite.

Of course, the same could be said about Kentucky every year, so that game doesn't work too well.

Are people forgetting how important height is? Wilk was a 6-8 center who got murdered by other truer centers like May and Troutman and provided little rim protection. That problem still would have existed w/ Harris back. We didn't really need more scoring against UNC. We needed Stiemsma to actually play like Kaminsky is to make them remotely comparable teams caliber-wise. Realgm just did a piece on how important size was to Wisconsin last year. http://basketball.realgm.com/article/235505/Five-Player-Defense-And-Offense '04-'05's fundamental flaw was having Wilk at center. They wouldn't have gotten near the elite eight sans Harris if not for the draw.

Harris was 3X the defender Kam Taylor was. With enough ball pressure on UNC's guards it's possible they don't dominate down low. Anyway, it's impossible to say what the impact of one player would have on one game. You can't just replay the game exactly the way it happened but add that one player. Lots of variables to account for. I think UW would definitely have been a better team. Maybe they lose in the 1st round with Harris? Who knows? But their season would have been better as a whole.

So you're arguing Mike Wilkinson was not a good defender?

That's a losing battle.

LOL That's ironic. You're fighting a losing battle to argue he was an asset defensively against good tourney teams while playing the center position. He wasn't protecting the rim well at a not so long 6'8" while blocking under 1 per in over 30 minutes. And in point of fact he got murdered by opposing bigs like May and Troutman, regardless if he overall graded as a solid defending POWER FORWARD. His main problem and ours in so far as beating legit teams in the '05 tourney was he was forced to play out of position because of a lack of perceived viable alternatives by Bo at the time. Devin Harris coming back wouldn't have changed that situation. He couldn't have protected the rim and guarded Sean May. Only a few year NBA vet Greg Stiemsma could have possibly done that. But Bo was never a fan for some reason.

We are beating the **** out of Chattanooga as expected.

The more interesting thing is that UK is in a battle with Buffalo. Down 2 with 13 minutes and change left to go. Still plenty of time for them to assert themselves and win comfortably but at least this should stop all the nonsense of them being able to compete with NBA teams.

Yeah, Sean May was a really tall, long center...

... or he was a lottery pick talent who played a really good game. He certainly destroyed a 6'10 future NBA player in James Augustine to a much greater extent in the next game (10 for 11 shooting).

Having lottery pick talents often make the difference in big games. Guess what Devin Harris was?
