Early Season Buyers and Sellers
Buyers:
1. Boston Celtics
-I actually think they are going to go for the playoffs in the weak East and try to build a team around Rondo.
2. Sacramento Kings
-They are performing well and could consolidate some assets to add another top notch player.
3. Houston Rockets
-They're still looking to add to their already talented roster.
4. Los Angeles Lakers
-Kobe is not going to request a trade, but he won't stand for a year of tanking when his career doesn't have many years left to it.
5. Toronto Raptors
-The Raptors have lots of expiring contracts and can take advantage of injuries to Chicago and Cleveland needing time to gel by adding a big time player of their own.
Sellers:
1. Denver Nuggets
-They need to trade their assets and get some draft picks.
2. Detroit Pistons
-They have talented players, but need to get pieces that fit.
3. Indiana Pacers
-If they go into full tank mode and build around Paul George in 2015-16, we could see them making a lot of moves at the deadline.
4. New York Knicks
-If they can add even more 2015 cap space, it looks like they will take less talent to do so at this point.
5. Philadelphia 76ers
-I don't even know what they have to trade, but they will trade for picks.

Re: Early Season Buyers and Sellers
I can see Portland becoming buyers as they are starting to look very good and could use a veteran SG/SF. Looking at you Jeff Green, Wilson Chandler and Aron Afflalo.

Re: Early Season Buyers and Sellers
I would look for Charlotte to try to upgrade the starting PF (or backup if they feel Zeller is ready) and backup PG. I think we have all the young talent we need. Might be a good time to trade our 2015 1st for a good player to deepen the roster

With how many assets the Bulls have, they could look to buy as well. They have a ton of depth, the Sac pick and a pick swap with the Cavs next season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go after Afflalo or another SG/SF

I'd say the Bulls would be buyers but I'm curious...What does New York have to sell?

Agreed and Afflalo is a good target. Wonder if denver would take Snell and the pick swap.

I'm not sure how we'd match salaries. Afflalo is 7.5m and Snell is only 1.4. It would have to be Dunleavy + Snell and maybe Moore or Bairstow. I don't think they're willing to trade Niko, even though he's a logical choice given our depth at PF.

Spurs are selling
Ayres and Daye are definitely on the market

Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Good point but I wouldn't give up Mirotic for an expiring afflalo that'd be way too big a price for me at least.

Re: Early Season Buyers and Sellers
Pacers likely will not be sellers. They'll still shoot for the playoffs and being 10 games under .500 at the all star break still gives you a chance to get the 7th or 8th seed in the East unfortunately. We've been close in all games except the Nuggets game (though we've had an easy schedule and it's about to get really tough). Plus Bird has already said he's still shooting for playoffs.
Realistically, we'll likely be in the 8-12 range in the lotto with a slight chance of sneaking into the playoffs. What we could get for West, Hill, or Hibbert likely won't amount to much in the next few years, if ever, so there's kind of no point to make a big move.
That said, anyone please take Scola. More than willing to sell on him if anyone is buying. I've been on the use Lavoy Allen over Scola train before the season began and it's become even more apparent that Allen impacts the game much more than Scola at this point.

J.R. Smith for Scola?
Watson and Larkin added if needed?

Easier to let Scola expire. While we need wings now because of injuries, we'd have a log jam next year (unless JR opted out). Miles, Hill, Cope, Stuckey, and Rudez all play either the 2 or 3 or both for us right now. Jr's def better than all of them, but not enough to be worth the potential headache. Lance and his antics were bearable on a winning team, but if he pulled that stuff on a bad team, it would not have been good.
And Larkin having his option declined already doesn't help this. I'd rather keep Watson tbh simply because of that.

Re: Early Season Buyers and Sellers
If the Knicks went into full tank mode for an early pick as well as maximum cap space:
Jose Calderon for the Lin TPE
J.R. Smith for Jason Terry
Houston would be pretty solid after those moves.

Me too. I like Niko and I wouldn't trade him for Afflalo, either.

Re: Early Season Buyers and Sellers
Anyone interested in buying Gordon this year? I'm not interested in next year trades, so just focus on this season. Thanks.

probably not the ones people actually want
Knight, Henson, Mayo, Dudley, Zaza, Ersan, Bayless, maybe Middleton
don't even bother with Giannis, Parker, or Sanders

Re: Early Season Buyers and Sellers
A deal that makes too much sense to me is either Affalo or Gerald Green to Chicago for some combo of Snell, their 1st and Dunleavy Jr.
Toronto would be a major buyer for a 4 like West or Millsap or a 3 like Tobias Harris, Wilson Chandler or Gallo. We have picks and expiring deals plus in the right deal I think Masai would throw in Bebe, Paterson or Amir Johnson

I hope the Celtics are buyers.
No way Danny is going to keep all those picks and with Rondo back to his triple-double self, I really think Ainge wants the playoffs.
