They bumped him up to 408. Don't remember LDT's game but did he do it in 3 quarters and 25 carries?

Edit: Tomlinson did it on 43 carries against UTEP.

Damn. LT's game came against UTEP. This could be the best game by any running back ever.

LT took 43 carries to get to 406 yards and 6 TDs. Gordon only has 25 carries.

Here is an AP summary/recap from LT's game

Texas Christian University's LaDainian Tomlinson broke the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I-A rushing record, gaining 406 yards and scoring 6 touchdowns today in a 52-24 victory over Texas-El Paso.

Tomlinson topped the record held by Tony Sands of Kansas, who rushed for 396 yards on 58 carries against Missouri on Nov. 23, 1991.

While Tomlinson is the first major college rusher to gain 400 yards in a game, he is the sixth over all in the N.C.A.A. The record is 441 yards, by Dante Brown of Division III Marietta College in 1996.

Tomlinson had touchdown runs of 70 and 63 yards on consecutive carries in the fourth quarter. He broke the Division I-A record with a 7-yard carry on his 43rd and final carry of the game.

I always said Gordon made a mistake coming back. I'm eating some crow now. Just a legendary game.

I don't know if he hits 200 even without those early fumbles. They were blessings in disguise. He's a lot like Cobb in which when he screws up, you know some big plays are about to come subsequently if there's time left. That's a character trait which will play really well in the NFL. I think that's your first impact running back from Wisconsin in the modern era of Badgers' football. I was never much of a believer in the previous guys outside of Clay before he found out about Mickies Dairy Bar.

Hopefully this game from Gordon will make everyone forget how well Aranda has this defense playing. I want him around as long as possible.
