Bledsoe would thrive if he was surrounded by a couple of 3D guys who catches and shoots off his passes instead of driving in. Big men slashing is fine since he can lob it or dish if off to them for a dunk/layup.
But watching Bledsoe penetrate then attract defenders only to pass it to someone who either dribbles it further or drives in from the perimeter into a clogged paint area reminds me of local YMCA pickup games.
Same with Dragic and Thomas... These guys struggle to find shooters who shoot.... Instead they give passes to others who only to hold onto it or make their own play.
Watching Tucker also try to create offensively in traffic is cringe worthy... He makes maybe 20% of those plays, if he could draw fouls that would be one but he doesn't... Just takes away from a more capable scorer.

Also with Spurs apparently interested in Marc Gasol (and the sky is blue apparently), Suns should be entering the same conversation.

Plumlee is a good backup big man, but I think getting Gasol will expedite Len's development, imagine going against each other every practice... Gasol will obviously win most of the matchups but Len will learn and adapt. Just like Admiral and Duncan back in 1997~1998.

I'd throw absolute MAX to Gasol, 75 Million 4 year deal.

I would love Marc Gasol. He and Len would be a nice big man tandem for years to come. Yes he would be expensive but all quality big men are. I would even be willing to trade Bledsoe for expirings and a pick to clear cap for him. With the resigning a of Dragic and Green staring us in the face we might want to do it anyway.

Actually, the Suns center position has potential. The position we need to address is pf. You cannot win consistently and have such inconsisten production like we are getting there. I think the SF position is a problem too, be we have Warren waiting in the wings and I think. I would not mind trading one of Bledsoe/IT/Goran as well as one or more of Morri/Tucker/Plumlee for a quality starting pf.

We are not winning a championship this year. We need to continue to build for the future. Get Len time. Get Warren time. Make a trade for a quality starting pf who can rebound and stretch the floor.

Now you get why I said it's too early? All of a sudden Kevin Love and Marc Gasol are available..... Who knows, maybe they will be at the trade deadline, but I highly doubt that.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Marc Gasol is a FA at the end of the season..

Kevin Love may opt out if he doesnt like playing 3rd fiddle to Love and Irving....

No need for unicorns.

If Marc Gasol becomes FA and there is a good chance, you ring his agent and offer max. He likes it in Memphis but his agent will advice him to get offers on the table in any case.

Memphis are also a very good team at the moment but have a 2 year window to win it all before they go to rebuild again. IMO.

I also like Brook Lopez.... could probably play PF next to Len.
Has the offensive game that could compliment Len as he develops his defensive game.

We should trade for Channing back. increasing salary cap his contract wouldn't be so bad.

Yeah, each guard needs to dish it to someone standing at the three point line (Green, Tucker or Morris) and not to each other unless they are set up for a set shot (which, at some times Dragic and Bledsoe have taken a pass from the other and hit a three, but when it gets passed out the other guard and that guy drives, that is pretty ugly).

nevetsov wrote:NOH have a stellar top 6 but not much else. At the risk of assisting a fringe playoff rival, I'd make a call to see if we can offer them depth for Ryan Anderson. Ideally i'd like to craft a starting lineup of:

Bledsoe
Dragic
Tucker
Anderson
Len

Anyone else is available.

He would be perfect, but he is their only real good 3 pt shooter, so we'd HAVE to give them some shooters and probably a big and maybe a pick.

They really are only 5 deep too, because Eric Gordon sucks. He is shooting 33% and 23% from 3. Evans is shooting under 40% overall. He is shooting 52% on 3s, but that is a very small sample size and he shot 22% from 3 last year, so I doubt that lasts.

We'd probably have to offer two of Green, Thomas and Tucker, along with Plumlee and I don't even know if that would get it done. Green and Thomas are shooting under 34% from 3 themselves.

Ultimately, I don't think they'd do it even for Thomas, Green and Plumlee.

Would anyone trade Dragic, Tucker, Tolliver for Wes, Batum, TRob from Portland?
We get a more natural fit at the 2 with a very good 3andD guy who can create his own shot if he has to. Batum would be excellent on this team. He always seems to make the extra pass and would help with ball movement and D. TRob Would add rebounding and another body to throw at the teams with big front courts.
Yes we lose Dragic but we'd improve 2 positions while still being able to run a fast paced offense. We'd also vastly improve on the defensive end.

We'd be a more traditional team with that lineup but giving up Dragic would be tough.

Batum makes up for that...

But still I think both teams say no.

I'd sell high on the Morris twins, Tucker and one of Dragic/Bledsoe/Thomas

Get a legit star moving forward.

I have seen enough of Len to feel that he can be a third/second option with solid minutes and touches.
