I could get used to this Aldon + Lynch thing!

And the defense could get even better when Dorsey gets back. Next week?

Who was playing nickel CB today?

Matt Maiocco:

Jim Harbaugh would only say "we're working through something" when asked about Ahmad Brooks' benching.

Matt Maiocco:

Ahmad Brooks mostly declined comment but said what Harbaugh said, they are "working through something."

Johnson? He had a huge pass breakup that lead to Borland's INT to save the game

The Aldon Smith effect was pretty obvious as there was a noticeably stronger pass rush today.

Really looking forward to that Smith + Lynch combo next season when Lynch has some more seasoning and Aldon is out of the gates from the start of the season.

Defense. Defense. Defense. Defense. Defense. Hey have I said defense yet?

Scary to think our defense has been better without 2 of our best MLB. Fangio is God!

Great to see the aldon and lynch factor. Borland is a beast. Also Eli threw some terrible balls. This game should have been over quick. Which brings me to this.

Offense. Is disgusting! I'm sick of watching this ****! Run game was going but we can't always get by on the run. It's drops, it's execution, it's play calls, it's coaching, it's everything and it's frustrating!

As many have said we will go as far as our offense can take us.

Chris Culliver has been outstanding lately.

Donte Johnson had a pretty good game too. He's showing improvement. Lucky for the Niners 'cause need all the CBs they have.

WIlhoite should not be in coverage. If he's on the field while Brooks is on the bench next week I won't be happy. They need to work through "something" ASAP.

are you advocating Brooks to ILB on passing downs?

I'm advocating Brooks to ILB on every down. He has more experience there than Wilhoite does.

call me  but I kinda like that idea. Lynch, Brooks, Boreland, Smith. Only thing I would worry about is setting the edge on Lynch's side of the field.

All I know is that Brooks is better than Wilhoite literally in every way. There isn't a single aspect of Brooks' game that isn't superiour to WIlhoite's. And that's no offense intended to WIlhoite', who's a petty good ILB.

Mindi Bach:

Chris Borland & Michael Wilhoite are first #49ers LBs to have an INT in the same game since Rickey Jackson & Lee Woodall in 1995

We won, which is the important part, of course. The defense continues to play well, and the sky is the limit if Aldon continues to get back into the groove. He and Lynch could absolutely devastate opposing OLs. After the initial drive, the whole D played well.

The offense is a mess. No rhythm. Continued poor execution. Either the OL is whiffing on pass blockers, the WRs are dropping balls on the hands, or the QB can't hit the broad side of a barn. It's got to stop. It's virtually impossible to pinpoint a single area that's to blame, but at this point, you've got to hold Roman responsible. Six points on average in the second half. No fourth quarter TDs. It's ridiculous, and it needs to change if we have serious designs on the playoffs. Today Kap was scattershot all day. Pretty good blocking, receivers were doing fine but for Crabtree's one drop. There is way too much talent on this offense for it to be so bad. The problem has to be fixed immediately, or someone has to be held accountable.

Remember how upset Purgay got about the 49ers drafting Borland? All he kept saying was short arms, slow, bad shoulders, and can't tackle. I am glad we ditched that idiot on poopla.

He also didn't like the Stevie Johnson trade (I think) and there was one guy he went on and on about how it was bad to sign them despite us being able to cut without dead money (forgot who). Oh, and Kaepernick led us to two NFCC games and a SB and two divisionals and a WC game, because, you know, we always split those up. All by himself.
