Eh...emotionally charged game against the Cavs isn't the best place for him to ease his way back into.

Bradley Beal expected to practice this week, hopes to make season debut Friday vs. Cavaliers

Beal exhibited no limitations during a dribbling and shooting drill with assistant coach David Adkins following the Wizards’ shootaround Saturday morning. The Wizards likely won’t practice Sunday so Beal would have to wait until Monday to practice for the first time.

I feel a lot more comfortable about scoring from 3 if we have two shooter in Beal and RB and defenders in Temple and Glen ( if he ever gets off the bench again ) Thats what I saw before the season started so it will be awesome to have that finally.

It we get that going, the focus is back to rim protection and production from SF

Rushing him back would be really bad move, IMO. Hopefully he is good and ready.

He should be fine. None displaced fracture.

He was just checked out by the doctors. 4-6 week so if they say he is a go, I trust that. They have been pretty safe with players returning for a while now. Specially Beal. I don't think they would let him back if he wasn't ready.

The Cavs don't play good defense. If anything, its a game where Beal should be comfortable especially if we move the ball and Wittman spreads the floor.

It's kinda funny that he's managed to have an all-time great career while being significantly overrated through most of it.

Never led a title team in WS/48. He's up there with Pippen as the best sidekick of this generation.

Well, he was definitely the alpha personality on those Gasol/Bynum/Odom teams. But that is a pretty astounding stat you reference.

I think it's also telling that he never led the NBA in PER or win shares either. Kobe has been popularly considered the greatest player of that immediate post-Jordan era for years and years right? The guy between Jordan and LeBron.

So given that, it would seem like an anomaly that he only won one MVP. But if you go back, season by season, Kobe has never actually been the best player in the NBA for any given year. Someone else always deserved the MVP. Even the year he actually won it in 2008, both LeBron and Chris Paul were better than him and Paul really should have won it. They gave it to an undeserving Kobe as something of a lifetime achievement award.

So Kobe's never been the best player in the NBA for a stretch of his career. Shaq was the best player early in his career. Then Duncan. Then you had a season or two of TMac. Then maybe back to Duncan. Then a season or two of Garnett. Then you had two to two and a half seasons of Dirk. Then you pretty much get to LeBron with years where CP3 and KD had the best seasons.

I think you're discrediting how good he was when he had less talent.. I mean, he was ridiculous in 2006 and 2007

And Beal is a guy who loves big games. He's a competitor and wants a chance to back up his words from a few months ago. I say let him get out there and compete

"But as much as Lakers’ fans believe it’s about Kobe, Lakers’ management would have to jump at a chance for a young star to accelerate their rebuilding. Which is why Kobe to the Wizards may be the one. The Wizards have a young, potential star shooting guard in Bradley Beal. You can build with a player like him. Then you give the Lakers Nene and another player since the Wizards have plenty of guys they’re not much using to include in trade. For the Wizards, it’s the chance to take a shot, which they really don’t have now. With the addition of Paul Pierce, the Wizards are about now. Adding someone like Kobe with Pierce, John Wall and Marcin Gortat gives them a shot at the top of the weak East. And how sweet would it be for Kobe to go where Michael Jordan couldn’t win and get somewhere? Kobe’s not getting that sixth title. Maybe besting Jordan that way would appeal to him."

That was from nba.com?

Good lord I can't believe they put this drivel on the official league website. :noway:

This is just rumor click bait. No way does this happen.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Beal play Wednesday, start Friday.

That's my gut feeling, maybe 10-15 minutes, depending. i don't see a reason to have 2 practices and participate in a shoot around and not play.

The only reason would be if he didn't respond well. But if he feels good tomorrow and pregame, I bet they give him a little run.

Wow, he's still feeling stabs of pain? Maybe he should sit for another week or so.

I broke my finger 2 years ago and it's still isn't the same (I still can't fully extend it). I cant imagine trying to play ball 6 weeks after. It's easy to forget how much work and mental focus it takes to come back from an injury.

i cringed when i read that also but is it real pain or the typical soreness that will always be there when coming back. alot of guys struggle with that question coming off of injury but i think we will be cautious with him due to our record, the time of year, and his fragile injury history

I don't mind him playing CLE. They don't play any defense anyway.

If he feels some pain, at least he is admitting it. Im sure they have asked the doctors if that is normal if he is telling us about it.
