Leonard, Butler, Harris

Post#1 » by Joe Berry » Tue Nov 18, 2014 1:16 pm

All of them will be restricted free agents next offseason. Good SF are hard to find in this league, and these guys are obviously pretty good. Butler and Harris just took a major step forward this season. i would offer any of them a max contract, obviously Leonard is the best and probably the hardest to get. Butler is a 2way player that improved on offense. Harris we just was what he can do last night. You have to try to get one of these guys even when a max contract might be overpaying for guys like Butler and Harris.
Monroe is gone in my opinion. This is a perimeter oriented league, get one of these guys and we will be a much better team next year.

My ideal -

Deal Monroe for a promising young player/a decent unprotected pick
Deal Smith for anything that saves money
Tank!
Draft Mudiay
Sign Butler & Draymond

Mudiay
KCP
Butler
Green
Drummond

That's a promising young team that should go hard, can space the floor decently and has a ton of defensive potential.

Harris really impressed me last night. He seems to have improved his shot and he's a willing passer and defender.
If there was anyway to deal Smith for anything, sign Harris and re-sign Moose, I'd be very happy.
Butler would be an Ideal fit too, but he looks like he'll stay in Chicago.

There is no way Spurs or Bulls let Kawhi or Butler walk for nothing. Either they will keep their guys or look for sign and trades.

Harris could be had though, if he keeps up his shooting then I'd take a flier on him.

We desperately need talent, at this point I'd offer them big money in the off season. Especially with Moose having one foot out the door, I literally cannot sit here with a straight face and argue that he has any good reasons to resign with us, other than maybe being able to sign a 5th year and get more money.

The chances of getting Leonard are about the same as getting Lebron. I like tobias a lot but magic do too. No chance chicago lets butler go.

I know we kicked around the Smoove to Denver idea the other day, but with the news coming out about them not seeing Faried as a long term piece, could we build something around Moose for Faried?

Faried / McGee's contract (giving us a backup 5)

for

Moose / Jerebko

Should work CBA wise, toss some 2nd round picks around to smooth value.

ehhh, they offered him 9 a year and didn't budge in extension talks. Also drafted Gordon with a lottery pick, not sure he is in the Magic's future

Butler would be my favorite and the most logical if he continues to play the way that he has. Although, I will agree that they are all long shots. Maybe if we continue to lose games, we'll just be able to draft a small forward.

Time to start looking at PF's too. Monroe will be gone after we end up with another top 8 pick.

I'm expecting us to take several steps back this off season if Greg leaves. This team is barely watchable, we will be 6ers bad without Greg, I can't stomach that.

There really aren't any PFs out there we can acquire who are as good as Greg

Monroe is a good player but all he does is score and rebound we can replace his scoreing with a good wing player the rebounding will have to be a team effort

Leonard- if SAS don't max him, then i'd offer him the max, only problem is, everyone will offer him the max

Harris- I need a bigger sample size, he's always been a good SF, just lacked good D and 3point range. He's always been a curious case for me cuz his form is so clean yet he struggles, i'd be hesitant to offer him the max

Butler- opposite of harris, he's defensive monster, and raw offensively, though promising. if butler were on the Spurs, he's be leonard. I'd offer him the max, but also hesitant. He also played a pretty good role in captian phillips(shout out to CGC)

I've been saying target Harris ever since we acquired Smith. Monroe for Harris & Afflalo made too much sense last year but eh....Dumars sucked.

At least we know we'll have our pick. The bad bounce last year might have really saved us.
