Dwayne Wade' won 15 games in 2007 after turning Super Saiyin on the Mavs. Kevin love has won below 20 games twice in his career. Boogie's whole career and Kyrie's entire career they've won a staggeringly low number of games. The narrative that good players find a way to win no matter what is complete crap. Good players on good teams find a way to win.

You can't expect a sophomore and a rookie to prove their worth when their complementary pieces can't complete rudimentary basketball tasks consistently. Judging possible key pieces when they are early in their development and playing on one of the worst NBA teams in history is short sighted at best.

Well we're just arguing cause-and-effect. The ability to win games is due to the talent and skills you display. The win is meaningless. The important issues are whether Noel really has hands of stone or is it rust. Can Noel improve his footwork. Can McDaniels become even a mediocre ball handler. Can Tony Wroten slow his game down. Can MCW become a decent shooter. The wins are meaningless if those players can't fix those things.

We play in a historically bad conference. Right now, we are in a position to become one of the worst, if not the worst NBA team in league history. None of your examples come close to our situation. Wade was already an established superstar by the time. Also, he missed 30 games of the 2007 season, so the Heat probably choose to tank. Boogie and Love play in the tough conference, Kyrie's Cavaliers were arguably not near as awful as the Sixers. Also, you just mentioned players that have already emerged as stars in this league. We don't know that yet about MCW and Noel. They may end up to be impact players as well, or they may become obscure players of a terrible team.

It is not about that we lose ton of games. As you remark, these guys did it as well. However, these teams were at least somewhat competitive, whereas our squad is just terrible to begin with. One reason may be that our supposed talents are not as good as we wish they are.

In general, you also get an idea of a player's trajectory after two or three years of playing (obviously, there are some outliers like Dragic, Billups and so on). I fully expect that MCW matures his game in the next couple of years. Then we may have a idea what we have got with MCW. So in a sense, it does matter how MCW performs this year and whether he can improve on his game. If he makes strides, this would also translate into more wins. For now, Noel gets a pass since bigs tend to develop longer.

The point is that it does matter to an extent if we are competitive (like in a couple of games this year) or best case, if we can even grab some wins.

Otherwise, I completely agree with LloydFree's post.
