but have the mods/coders considered adding new gfycat.com html5 gif functionality?
the reason i ask is because html5 gifs are far superior in terms of:
1. bandwidth consumption (important for people on mobiles)
2. (and therefore) improved speed of loading
3. quality

http://gfycat.com/AlertDefiantGiraffe is a 2 mb html5 gif file and represents a 90% saving of bandwidth as the gif is actually 19 mb (the following image is the full gif)

and realgm already allows vines, which i think are html5 gifs
so i was just wondering whether realgm would allow html5 gifs from gfycat as well?
