Re: Choseph Smith - the Rich Cho Thread
haha, I love that Cho almost laughed at the re-branding helping us land guys, like Maxiell in this instance.

Charlotte Hornets @hornets 5m
Cho on @KembaWalker - he's been working hard on his outside shooting. Range shooting is important for him if he's going to take another step
Steve Reed @SteveReedAP 4m
Rich Cho: Al Jefferson says his foot is pain free.
Charlotte Hornets @hornets 3m
Cho on possible roster changes: things can change any day We're always looking to improve the team so if something comes up we'll look at it
Charlotte Hornets @hornets 1m
Cho on chances in East: We got better as a team. We weren't that far away from a higher playoff spot. We're in a good position going forward
Charlotte Hornets @hornets 16s
Cho on Hornets return: I think the guys are understanding (the legacy): how big a deal the Hornets are, the colors - its amazing & exciting
Steve Reed @SteveReedAP 2m
Cho on Jason Maxiell: For whatever reason he told us he always wanted to be a Hornet.
Charlotte Hornets @hornets 38s
Cho: The mindset is that this is a new beginning. Let's carry on the tradition of the Hornets and start anew

Cho did not elaborate more about the Rod Higgins situation.
Only said that he himself will travel with the team more and that Chad Buchanan has been a great help.

Lol, local media trying to get that can of worms opened up. Cho avoided it pretty well.

Re: Choseph Smith - the Rich Cho Thread
Obviously there are a lot of questions that would get a political answer, but I wish someone would have asked Cho more about the Stephenson signing. As in - how come, in his opinion, did we land him on such a good deal when it's known that Indiana offered a better one (the 44/5 one)?

I think it was reported that he wanted to be able to opt out and sign a more lucrative extension in 2 years. So hes essentially betting on himself staying out of trouble and playing great for that even bigger payday in a couple years.

Re: Choseph Smith - the Rich Cho Thread
The next couple years will make or break Cho. I'm a big fan of his, and I feel he handled the rebuild exceptionally well, but locking everyone in (and deciding who is vital and who is replaceable) is the step where most young talented teams blow it.
We've got to make a decision on Kemba, Biz, MKG, Al and maybe even Lance (again) all by summer 2016. If we can get everyone on fair deals, or ideally below market value before they break out in the case of Biz and MKG, we'll be in awesome shape. If we overpay Kemba, Big Al demands a huge raise, and Lance bends us over the barrel after a couple great seasons we'll be topped out in a hurry.
The rising cap in 2016 is a huge bonus for our rebuild, we can theoretically lock everyone in asap and then have some cash left over for a move similar to Dallas bringing in Parsons this summer. Probably won't nab a superstar, but at least a very valuable piece. I'm really hoping Cho can nail the next two years, we've got a great opportunity to build a special team if he plays his cards right.

Reserve shooting guard Gary Neal has lost about 22 pounds this off-season, according to Cho.
What was he at before? 230?

Is it just me or is this completely out of no where? Kinda odd.
Maybe TMZ is about to leak the Lance Stephenson domestic violence tape.
You misspelled Jeff Taylor, close though.

Re: Choseph Smith - the Rich Cho Thread
I love how, for some reason, basketball-reference has moved to the abbreviation CHO for our team after the name change.

Cho-net is becoming self-aware.

I don't think we know enough to know how much of our current situation is even Cho's fault. I do think this is an amusing example of the no win situation we put Cho in - if Lance performs well, credit to MJ because he wanted Lance here and personally closed the deal on him after Cho was too busy chasing Hayward. Now that Lance is clearly not helping and Hayward is looking solid, #FireCho because he put the wrong pieces together.
I still would like to point out that since Jefferson came on board every single Cho trade or signing, other than drafting Vonleh, has involved us acquiring offensive weapons who seemed to bring shooting as an asset. We signed Tolliver, called up CDR from the NBDL, traded for Neal, drafted Hairston, signed Roberts, signed Marvin, plus Lance was supposed to be not awful from three and Taylor was supposed to be available and theoretically might remember how to shoot. We had such depth on the wings with Hendo, MKG, Lance, Neal, Hairston and Taylor, maybe the logic was that surely at least two of them wouldn't suck from three?

Cho should be fired and Clifford, not trade Lance.

I've been really patient with Rich Cho, but when is he gonna be on the hot seat for this mess of a roster?!
