What teams do you think would give TOR trouble ?

Who would be a bad/tough match up and why ?

Team in East likely Washington. maybe Chicago, Cleveland if they ever get there act together but see Toronto going 3W & 0 L since we play Cleveland 3 early season games.

In the West SAS gives everyone trouble, Dallas, Grizzles and Portland. That's it maybe OKC when they are back to strength. Forgot GS

Plus Raptors have only played 2 out of 16 games against their Atlantic rivals many Western teams have played more.

TBH, I think the Raptors have a fairly versatile crew . They can hang for the most part with teams at either end of the spectrum. Fast teams with goo guard play, or slow it down big frontcourt teams or anything between.

But, in that spectrum, I'd say they are most vulnerable to the slow-it down, big front-court teams. Chicago for example is probably teetering onto the less favorable side of match ups for us, and Memphis too. I mean we can win some of em, but not probably our specialty.

I'd say the reason is mostly because Raps are small in terms of bigs off the bench. Patterson and Hansbro are 2 ok sized PF's in reality, but Bulls always have 2 really big, good bigs out there. We used Hayes effectively off the bench instead of Hansbro against Memphis, and it worked, but not sure it's the best long term strategy to rely on Hayes off the bench, as it's kind of 4 on 5 offensively when he plays. I don't think you want to get stuck playing him 20mpg for an entire series because of matchups.

Raps have some expirings and picks though, so may be able to address this weakness. I would really like someone like KG to come off the bench for us.

I think a lot of teams would like KG coming off the bench for them.

But he is 12M. Expensive bench player.

Yeah he is. I mean I'd probably trade our expirings for him (say Hayes + Hansbro), but doubt Brk does that (unless Brk is out of the playoffs and KG asks for a trade), and I don't think I'd want to give up any actual other assets for him because he's a 1 year rental.

Desn't have to be KG by any means though. We just need one more decent defensive big body off the bench to try and cover our weakness' a bit.

Maybe Chicago? Chicago is a terrible match up for the Raptors. They have the size advantage over the Raptors. Pau looked in his prime against them..

I don't think the Wiz are really, we are 4-1 vs. them in the last couple years.

Also, I said Memphis too, but now that I think about it, are they a bad matchup for us? No doubt they are a good team, and going to be tough to play against. But, we are 3-0 against them between last year and this year. Maybe they aren't that bad of a matchup?

Big/mobile front courts. (SF/PF/C's)
Amir's ankles have really slowed him down. Jonas is fairly speedy/big but he certainly has his limits. The team really has 1 really good defender for those lineups in James Johnson...otherwise the team is really thin. You might be able to pin Patterson in that role, but it is a huge stretch. I am beyond shocked that Lebron just did not have a field day with JJ being out but..

Chuck Hayes somehow have been able to slow down big Centers, otherwise its pretty dicey if Jonas can't handle them.

One game he was unconscious plus when will they be healthy???? Huge problem and even with a healthy team likely a 2w & 2L.

Raptors have REALLY good chemistry. You don't think KG might mess it up? I don't know about the guy. I'm sure the crowd would get him going in the playoffs. But ..........I don't know. KG?

Utah was up with possession of the ball around the 30 second mark then turned it over stupidly. Utah just had a really bad first quarter, then won the next two quarters, but blew the game late.

I would see a healthy CHI with Gasol giving them problems.
Dallas with Tyson
Grizz with Randlolf.

I see where you are going with that.

A healthy SAS beats most teams. They are a machine.
GS I suppose with Boget
'
CLE... Not seeing that so much. I think TOR is to athletic for them. Well, depth of athletic.

Cleveland only wins that if LeBron just takes over.

I suspect IND when they get healthy as well

And SAC if they had more discipline.

But for now, TOR is on a roll.

We'll see.... I agree about the health, but the experience of the Bulls would be too much for Toronto imo..

Really experienced players Noah (hobbled definitely not DPY) Gasol good player but not Prime plus misses 25% of games, Heinrich & Dunleavy should be role players.

Jimmy is really busting a grove this year.

I didnt see that coming.

Wow. Rose played. Amazing.

And Paul

Wonder why the just barley won.

Wow. Trey Burke with a good game. About time. I liked him coming out of the draft and so far he hasn't lived up. I want to see Rudy Gobert get it going.

What's wrong with KG? He may seem brash, but when he's on your team I think KG's the type of guy that dudes love to ball with. I was watching Scalabrine tell some old stories the other day about KG on the BS report. How he was behind the scenes, and with his team mates. He sounded like the definition of a 'gamer'. Just passionate about the game, and laying it all out there. I think players would love to play with a guy like that. Especially guys like Lowry who are like that themselves.
